Post by AnimeGuy420 » Wed Aug 06, 2003 11:15 am

Well I bought a DVD at Media Play that has the Yu Yu Hakusho Movie and something called Ninku The Movie. The only reason I bought it was b/c it was a good price and I wanted the Yu Yu Hakusho Movie. Does anybody know anything about this Ninku Movie?

Ninku is decent if you don't expect too much from it; the movie is average in all aspects, and Fusuke's character design can be a little offputting, but since you were really gunning for the YYH movie, it's basically a free bonus. Look at it that way and you'll probably enjoy it.

Unless you have a problem with guys in loincloths. One of the main characters fights nearly naked, which some people might have issues with.

There's also a TV series, but there's about zero chance of it being brought over. I've seen a few eps of it taped off Japanese TV, and it seems a little better than the movie. Don't know if anyone's fansubbed this.

Heh, I really didn't like Ninku at all - but I'm one of those who was 'put off' by the animation. ^_^; It was a little silly, but I guess still interesting. I think I'd need to see the series to really appreciate it.

i pretty much hated it but as Youkokitsune106 stated the opening and ending songs were pretty decent. the animation of the ninku/yyh dvd wasn't all that great and the subbing voices for the yyh portion of the dvd was absolutely atrocious. my brother starting pissing in his pants when he heard Kuwa "hara"'s voice in english. it sounded sooo bad.

Heh, I listened to the first 5 minutes of the yyh dub before switching to japanese - and I've *never* gone back. ^_^;; I never even tried the dub for Ninku...at least, I don't think I did. Wow, it's been a long time since I watched that movie... :?

I just watched both the YYH movie and the Ninku movie...
The dubbing was really bad, even for YYH.
They should have stayed with the voices from CN.
Ninku was okay I liked it a little, I'd say I liked it
enough to try and make an AMV out of it.
The animation wasn't all that great but I didn't mind.
I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you just happen to
get it as a bonus like I did.

This YYH movie was dubbed waaaaay before FUNimation got the YYH series.
