DAMN STRAIGHT!That's why Clamp is the BEST. They can make anything CUTE in ANY situation (even the charaters from X looked cute).
And CCS rocks....Dwchang the post you made proves it!
I think you're missing my point. My point was that they were fucked up and made a show that is also fucked up. They disquise it as cute, but it's really just a pedophile show.angelx03 wrote:That's why Clamp is the BEST. They can make anything CUTE in ANY situation (even the charaters from X looked cute).
I knew what you meant. I made an ironic statement. I know Cardcaptor Sakura has "weird" relationships with that characters, and kids in this country shouldn't read about them....yet.dwchang wrote:I think you're missing my point. Sure they can make it look cute, but that doesn't make it any less pedophilic yes? And with respect to the original post, this is by no means something they should watch.
Yeah sure it has relationships, but within the context of this thread, my post is relevant. Also, relationships may be the focus, but that still doesn't get rid of anything I stated. That's still there. That's all I posted. I mean, you can like it all you want, but those scenes and relationships are also there as well regardless of if you like it or not.Moonlight Soldier wrote:Actually the story of Cardcaptor Sakura is about relationships as most shojo manga is.
The relationship that Sakura builds and how it affects the people around her etc etc.
You missed the point apparently. And he's talking about manga I believe, as in what his library would approve of, not the anime.

With Rika and the teacher...I'm pretty sure they're "Dating" and so on. I'm fairly sure he says something about it in the earlier episodes.reboman wrote:You know, I would agree that there are some elements from CCS that parents might find objectionable. Frankly, though, I didn't see it as quite that bad.
I guess, yes, parents wouldn't be too thrilled about the homosexual "relationships" from the show, but it was in no way explicit.
The "teacher dating his student" thing I have always sort of disagreed with. Rika-chan or whoever it was, in my opinion, was treating the teacher as a surrogate father figure, given that earlier in the show it was said that her real father had gone away or something like that. I guess it's debatable, though.
I can't say anything about the general idea of teachers dating their students, although that I guess would definitely be frowned upon in American culture.
I never thought of it as a pedophiliac show, though. That's certainly not why I watched it. I always thought of it, for at least most of the time, as an innocent romance/action show that didn't feel the need to focus on the sexuality of the characters.
I guess with some parents, though, and some of the content within, the anime itself [and definitely the manga] might not be acceptable for a library, even with all the other junk that's in the them nowadays.
