I like Trigun more than Cowboy Bebop but I on't see how either one is 'better'.

...because if you want to think of anime as an artform, the true value isn't in the production value, it's in how it makes you feel.

Ah, I do so like it when I'm proved wrong. (this is not sarcasm, by the way)

I do have a bit more to say on the matter, though.

Vash was slightly dynamic. He did change, albeit not much. You are correct about Wolfwood being far more dynamic. At the start of the series Vash was living by what Rem said. His entire life revolved around her memory. By end, he realized that he needed to live by his own judgement and let the past be passed. Like I said, not much of a change, but it's there. He's also very dynamic as far as the plot is concerned (plot == all onscreen events/sounds), as new sides to him were often revealed, although as far as the story is concerned, those aspects existed long before.

I would say that CB has greater emotional depth, but not necessarily range. I think emotion may have been the wrong word choice, anyway. I was thinking more along the lines of 'mood.' Either way, it's still an easily debatable point that could go either way. I also did miss a few episodes of CB, so I may have missed out on some rather poignant stuff.

Well Vash was like a child in so many ways...He enjoyed life for what it could give him and ran on the impulses he had rather than think things through.

He was also stuck in an ancient tragedy he couldn't let go of. He had little development because the series was about his inability to move on after being so shell shocked for so long. He didn't understand much about humans really or their motivations. He knew they were alive. Knives didn't understand humans either. He saw them as insignificant wastes of life and a threat to his kind (and himself as long as they lived) .

It isn't until Vash realizes what Rem wanted for him and that he can move on at the end. You see him discard his old life with his coat, Rem's favorite color and his constant reminder of her. He can forget, move on.

Progress isn't always played out in the show....in this case the end was his beginning.

oooo good point

I was thinking about the last episode when he said he would search for his own words.

And i think i know what you meen now by emotional range, Trigun hit more points of 'emotion' with the death of a character, the forcing of a character to kill another person, and having to fight his own brother. While CB was more in depth but focused more on one point.

thats a good question ... i'm still on ep3 ... and to stay on topic, i like Trigun and bebop equaly. i tend to find that those Animes go hand in hand. people who like Bebop tend to like trigun a lot too, and vice versa. Both of them are just really good.

Cowboy Bebop, foolish mortals! BWAH-HAH-HAH-HAH!

Spike could whip Vash anytime, anywhere.

don't get into one of these discussions ... Spike is human, sure he;s a high end human, but he's still. Vash is not human, his abilities go above and beyond what is capable of any human.

If they were to get into a fight i'm sorry to say, but spike would get his ass kicked. Spike is a cooler character then vash, but he's not a better gunman ... god what a childish argument.
