I personally love to read Shaman King manga instead of watching the anime version of it, because I would rather sit down with a good comic than waste thought space on a cartoon.How many of you will think this show would be a hit with new audiances.

i like the manga better than the anime---the english dub is AWFUL (in my opinion anywayz) and they changed the character names

They changed Manta to Mortimer and stuffs like that. It's really gay, if u ask me... but the manga's great!! ^-^

Hmm... I've only seen the first nine eps of the anime (fansubbed), plus I own the first volume of the manga (and two issues of Shonen Jump, which got me hooked on it in the first place). They seem to have condensed it a lot already in the few eps I've seen. I'm kind of afraid that it might become another bastardized Yugioh/Pokemon thing...

The manga is great. I'm unsure about the anime. I did read that they changed most of the names. Does anyone know if anime aired on FOX yet?

I like both, that I do. Of course, I see the manga as better, much better...

In general, the manga version of a series tends to be better than its anime counterpart, simply because it's not as expensive to produce, and the author can go into more depth. I've read a bit of the Shaman King manga, but haven't seen the show, so I don't know if this general rule holds in this case or not. From what others are saying, it would appear so.

the show is on saturdays at 9:00am mountain time that all i know.

mortimer is a really gay name, seriously i cannot see Yu screaming MORTIMERRRRR!!! instead of MANTAAAA!!!
obviously manta is better, what were they smoking?
btw, i read the manga. the manga that's been released in shonen jump from the beginning so far, and i really like it, can't see any way to incorporate playing cards into this, but you never know, the white devils are always up to something

I like the manga and the subs, but the fox version is odd. I've only caught one show on fox so far. I think Manta's voice is better in it than in the subbed version (which I find terribly irritating). I think it probably turned out better on fox than it would have if it would have aired on CN.
