The anime around the Kyoto saga is awesome though.

It's the fillers and the last two storylines that sucked.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

I wish I could read Japanese...that would be so awesome...but I'm going to learn someday! ::looks determined:: NO ONE CAN STOP ME! BWA HAHAHAHA! I love manga. When I discovered the rather large manga area at the Borders near my house my friends claimed I "stared reverently" for a good 5 minutes before actually looking at anything. Oh well. :D

Japanese language structure isn't that hard. The hard part is learning all the words and even more so the kanji. I have been studying japanese for over a year now, and I still have problems reading stuff. I really need to kick it into over drive, Im planning on buying the Vandread manga soon and if I cant read it, it will be a waste.

i agree, japanese is really easy to learn. ooh but i dislike kanji. theres too many of them. *screams while looking at list of 1000 kanji to memorize* but yes, despite that, once you learn hiragana and katakana, its pretty easy to jush read everything. except then u have to learn what the words mean... anyways, they have a vandread manga? kool! i like the series, it was pretty interesting.

There are two different versions of the manga.

Version 1-

The orginal manga: This was what came before the series and what inspired it. Be warned this version of the manga is nothing like the tv series. There are two volumes plus a special volume.

Version 2-

This manga was created after the series was made. It pretty much follows the tv show. BTW, they have an "extra" volume of the manga which takes place after the end of the tv show. I haven't got the chance to check it out quite yet, but I hope it's good.

The hardest part is the knowing all the words really. Grammar is pretty easy.
I got a Sony Electronic Dictionary that is Japanese <-> English with usage and stuff. It helps me out quite a bit when I'm stuck.
Even after a good 4 years of studying Japanese and using it in the workplace I'll have trouble now and then. It's an ongoing thing. Living there helps quite a bit because all the signs and stuff you see everyday. Speaking of, in about 3 weeks when I disappear from forums you'll know where I'll be 8) good ol nihon.

The manga is always better, just like movies that are make from books, the book always have more detail that is left out in the movie. So the manga is the same way.

I somewhat disagree. Although in many cases the manga is indeed better than the anime, there are rare occasions where I feel that the anime way out did the manga. Two examples of this would be Nadesico and Vandread. Both the anime were severally different from the manga and the anime added a level to the story in which is much better.
