8) The argument that cartoons are for kids and anime is not true.

I used to watch Pinky and The Brain, Animaniacs, and such. There were constantly litle jokes and comments that a kid would never pick up on but an adult would. And there are Japanese anime intended only for kids.

The real argument you're trying to make is that anime is a little more adult than "Alvin and the Chipmunks", or "The Smurfs". To do this, you ought to point out the few American animated films aimed at adults ("Heavy Metal" is really the only one I've heard of, but there have to be a few others out there).
Thats What i've been Saying. There are animated TV series out there that aren't cartoons, such as (some of which i already listed):

1. Futurama
2. The Simpsons
3. Bevis and Butthead
4. Family Guy
5. South Park

The only one in that list that isn't a cartoon is South park, and that's because it's paper cut-outs.

Whether its hand drawn, CG, of paper cut outs, its still animated.

Exactly.

All of those shows use "cartooning", ergo they are cartoons.

Can we let this stupid argument die already?
