Look here is what I've noticed and it's begun to affect my thinking. Have any of you noticed how "hmm how should I fraise this?" Look It's gettin to the point were a lot of the anime's now days are somewhat perverted. Whats it called Echii? Whatever anyway gimme your opinions on this. What ever happened to the classic butt kicking, awsome story anime's like Evangelon,DBZ(It was good at one time),Gundam Wing, and many others. Now it's no action just comedy with hot chicks. It's still good and it gives us something to drool at , but still I havent seen many good action anime's lately. Tell me what you think?

Go to anime .nfo's list of 2003 shows and I think you will find that ecchi still is a minority. There are plenty of good shows that dont involve lots of half naked females.

Cause it takes a lot of money to make a really action packed series.

What Cowboy Bebop's price tag was 270+ thousand? (Please correct me if I am wrong, I do not claim to know everything)

That and to get funding for something like that isn't easy. What happens if it isn't good? Then you have a negative income.... negative income is bad. (just a wild guess here)

Also, if every anime out there was an ass kicking action packed blood-o-ramma. It would become mainstream and no one would care. Then you would be asking "where's all the fanservice/drama anime?"

I'd hate to be a stickler, but it's spelled 'phrase'.

Not to say that there hasn't been a hoard of fan service based anime beign released. But you need to watch Last Exile and Scrapped Princess among others that are very good watches that happens to be what you are looking for.

But that's only my biased arbitrary opinion.

There are tons of animes out there. If you don't like ecchii, stay away from the newer series.

That is the stupidest fucking question I have ever heard.

Anime is not a genre reserved for high class story telling, and it never was. It was originally manga adapted to animation, hence many of the codes and coventions of manga exist in many anime.

Anime is JUST a medium, Nintento was using it to help hawk Pokemon cards and gameboy games before Evangelion, and that sure as hell wasn't 'High art'.

To pick a select few of thousands of television series and films from over at least 30 years, (only mentioning a few from no longer ago then 1995) shows that your own experiance with anime is EXTREAMLY narrow.

You will find sad anime, you will find happy anime, you will find action anime, perverted anime, and sex anime. Why? It's JUST a medium, it's just like live action, it has many genres, and is not a genre itself.

Do -not- expect something to be good just because it's anime, Japan is a capitalistic nation, and the second most powerfull economy on the planet, they have MANY corperations thinking up ways to use cheepy produced anime to make TV watching drones buy their shit, and it won't stop.

You mentioned Gundam Wing as a classic. HAH. Gundam Wing is a SPIN OFF of the U.C. Time Line Gundam series's, it was trying to bring a new, young, hip audience to the Gundam viewership, using 5 pretty boys and new, shiny gundams. It is the BACKSTREET BOYS of Anime.

Anime will allways have the good action The only reason echii is getting more news is because of the growing amount of perverts out there. That is y you are hearing so much about it.

Look DJ_Izumi I may not have seen a very broad number of anime's but their all I know so spare me the flaming for talking about gundam wing and so forth k? I admit I'm not very "up to date" with the newest anime's, but I still liked the ones I've seen. Also I see you other people's points so thnx for the info!
