Five is the best episode. But IMHO it's because of the South Park scene and the shoot out in the barbershop.

I think that this is a really good show. It is well animated, it is funny all the way through, and you don't spend as much time watching the story unfold like in 25 episode series. It just comes all at once.

Episode two is my favourite because I'm a big fan of Mamimi. She's like a little storm cloud, throughout the series - everything is all happy and crazy and then whenever she appears we're suddenly plunged into dark psychological stuff. But for individual scenes, it's hard to top Ninamori, on the bed in episode three, wearing her glasses and Naota's pyjamas. Another classic scene: episode four, Mamimi is molesting Naota under the bridge, Haruko drives by, Mamimi jumps up (strangling Naota with her arms around his neck, on her way up) and jumps on the back of Haruko's scooter and they speed off. As Naota is standing there looking after them, you see a pair of panties lying on the ground next to him. How did *those* get there? It's worth going back and watching the scene again, one frame at a time.

Denounce me as a heretic if you must, but I just don't find Haruko a particularly appealing character, neither artistically nor for the babe factor. She's just too silly and random - she's important for advancing the plot, but doesn't stay still long enough to develop much personality of her own.

i watched that scene quite a few times and tried to figure it out ... another case of broken rules of physics ... like Ninaromi's bloomers in episode 3.

thats one reason why i love her. Another is because of that Bass ... yes i love insruments ... particularly guitars. And the fact thats she's even more insane then myslef and kicks ass is another plus... ever read the manga ... she has a nice violent streak in her there.

i'm surprised you didn't mention that scene in episode 3 ... the only scene where Mamimi is happy for more then 15 seconds. Where she's playing with naota under the bridge and see's his cat ears.

Furi Kuri is genius.

The first time I saw it it was all in one night and it left me completely dazed & confused.

The second time made so much more sense, I was able to see the story and meaning and everything. IMHO not the greatest thing ever made, but good stuff certainly.

Plus a lot of summer nostalgia for me in it!

Actually, if you watch episode three closely, you can see that when Canti ducks Ninamori's first attack, her knickers get snagged on his head and get pulled off.

i've watched both those panty scenes a lot and very carefully ... plus i ahve the groundwork art book, and i believe both of the frame by vrame sketches are in there. I've seenthem all,and none of them are physicaly possible, but still an amazing work of imagination. besides if it were real ninaromi would probably have a big gash on her back.
