Full Moon wo Sagashite
Has anybody seen this anime series? I finished watching episode 5-8 of fansubs and thought it was very good. Heck, the soundtrack is the COOLEST! 8)

I have and have watched all 52 episodes of the series, and I must say it's one of the best I've ever seen. The soundtrack is great, the story moves well, the characters are deep and rich, and the ending... let's just say it's as close to perfect as you can get.
EPISODE ONE SPOILERS AHEAD, AND POSSIBLE INFERRED LATER EPISODE SPOILERS, BUT NOTHING BAD!
A word of warning: The show DOES become a bit depressing towards the end, but that's all I'll say. There's a few plot twists that you can't see coming, no matter how good you are at predicting how a story will go. The main plot twist... it catches you off guard... knocks you on your ass. It's crazy.
As for a plot description... It's about a girl who has throat cancer that wants to become a pop singer. She wants to be a singer to get the attention of her childhood love, Eichi, who moved to America with a new family. (They lived together at an orphanage when they were younger.). One day, Mitsuki comes face to face with two Shinigami (Angels of death.) They tell her she only has one year to live. Mitsuki decides at that point that she has to move forward and become a singer as fast as possible, despite her grandmother's hatred for music. However, her biggest problem is taht she's only 12, and she needs to be at least 16 to audition.
One of the Shinigami, Takuto, has a kind heart, and decides to help her audition by giving her the appearance of a 16 year old. Furthermore, while she's in 16 year old form, her cancer is gone and she can sing without causing her throat pain. Takuto did this in order for her to be able to audition and fail, that way she can say she'd tried, failed, and go to the afterlife with no regrets... but instead, she passes, and is signed on as Seed Record's new artist.
That's just the beginning of Mitsuki's journey. Throughout the show, she'll face hardships, new songs, rivalries, sadness, lonliness, love, depression, and hope. Is she truly fated to die after a year? Is there no saving her from this fate? If I told you, that would be a spoiler

I agree its one of the best series I've ever seen. (number 2 or 3 on my top anime list)
If I had to have a complaint about the series, the only thing would be that it's 52 episodes. There's a fair ammount of filler in there, and I feel like it could have been pulled off a lot better if they had opted for 26 or even 39 eps. Of course, maybe you aren't like me and you actually like filler eps
Although this is a minor complaint, don't let it stop you! The series is still incredibly good. Hopefully I'll get around to making my fmws amv sometime this year

Too bad the fansubs have a clock in the upper left. You got a raw source without the clock?Zarxrax wrote:I agree its one of the best series I've ever seen. (number 2 or 3 on my top anime list)
