Sakura Wars
Hey,
For those of you who have seen this I'm curious as to what you though. I was considering buying the OVA version. Although, if you've seen the TV version, I'm interested which you thought was better.

Agreed. TV did way better developing a plot and characters. The OAV was more for fans of the game. I'd say the first episodes of the OAV were continious by themself, but then the last episodes were like skipping ahead to the end of a TV series and never seeing the episodes in between. You're left wondering where the new characters came from and things like that. They just showed up. OAV is still good, but you need have some background knowledge of the series and/or game.
I'm not really a fan of the series myself. One of my anime friends is fanatical about it. So I ended up watching it anyways. OAV was entertaining to me. Was not really too interested in the series when it got drawn out into a TV show.

Since I have not played any of the games, I can't make a comment.
I did meet a fan of the Sakura Wars games and he told me that OAVs 1 and 2 are very loyal to the game, but that the TV series just makes wild and often inexplicable leaps from the storyline created in the game.
Again... I'm just telling you what he said.
I have OAVs 1 and 2 and I hope to get the movie soon...
but given this guy's review, I'm going to avoid the TV series.

There are two kinds of people in this world:
Those who divide people into two kinds of groups
and those who don't.
