Anime techniques stolen!

Post by Anime Jedi » Sat Nov 15, 2003 2:17 pm

lol

Well, maybe not stolen, but it seems that usual anime traits are being used everyday now in animation that is, well, non anime.

Forgive my lack of knowledge in the specific terms, but things such as "super-deform". Like when the characters become extremely small, with big heads, and act all cute. Shows like Teen Titans seem to do this all the time.

Care to share anything you've noticed as well?

Animation is evolving.
I like bugging people. Deal with it.

80% of the material on Keenspace and Keenspot is based on anime.

Every just copies all the standard character design methods and 'poses' from those 'How to draw manga' books.

You see people use cliche anime/manga gestures and manorisms without knowing what they actually mean.

However, the same could be said about America. People just copying comic book styles. The simple fact is, most people are completly unoriginal.

Everything an individual produces is a product of everything they have experienced. Hence, all work created by that individual is by nature in some way rooted in the other works around at that time. It's not ripping anyone off, its just how it works.

How the individual interpretates and builds on that basis is what makes a work original or unoriginal.

Really? Well, I'm glad I didn't make any other threads that said that Teen Titans wasn't anime. lol But seriously, I'm completely surprised. 0_0 I guess this thread was just another random thought by AJ. lol

Yeah, like Sexylosers, which I think has moved off Keenspace and onto its own domain. Also Megatokyo, which ranks in the top 13,000 web sites in terms of traffic (this puts it ahead of even the most popular independent Survivor websites, which rank no higher than 40,000th).
