Heh, definitely a rush on the org. The number of yyh vids on the org have tripled in the last few months. I blame CN for the publicity. ;p

But it's great to see more yyh fans - as long as it doesn't become the next dbz. o.o

I agree let's pray that they don't ruin a good show by over killing it like they do with most shows. But i would like to go with Hiei just cause he's a regular badass.

I like Yusuke more than those 2 'cause he's stronger and has (in my opinion) cooler attacks than those 2 besides Hiei's "Dragon of the Darkness Flame" and Yoko Kurama's uhh... I can't remember the name of it but it's the plant that has a bunch of mouths and they drip acid I think and it was used when Kurama first turned into Yoko Kurama in the dark tournament, but if I had to choose between Hiei and Kurama... I choose Hiei because I think he's stronger than Kurama and he's funny when he's bashing Kuwabara

My opinion: Kurama is the true badass out of the two. He is one of those fighters that doesn't brag about how much better he is, he just shows them if the need arises. And when he fights, he gives his opponent a fair warning before kicking their ass. And when there is no time for warnings, he just goes with the flow and wins. Hiei on the other hand, constantly seems to brag about his abilities. Though he is an exceptional fighter as well, he has a lot of pride and arogance. And even Hiei admits that Kurama is "as cut-throat" as he is. (I think that it was his way of saying that Kurama was better than he is)

Mm, I think Kurama is too lenient. He doesn't go for the throat only because he wants to understand his opponents and decide first whether he can kill them or not (every fight in the tournament except Karasu and the one who threatened his mother, he spares his enemies for one reason or another). Every time he fights he lets himself get torn to ribbons trying to understand the motives of his enemy. There are a few exceptions - Toguro ani (Sensui arc), the demon he and Hiei killed together (if he hadn't Hiei would have killed him anyway), the demons Yomi sics on him (he was tapping into the youko by then, so I blame that). The only time I see Kurama being a bad ass is when he's protecting someone (his mother, Kuronue's memory, the boy in the Sensui arc - hence his uncharacteristic use of force). And when he's Youko. But even Youko Kurama plays with his enemies (Karasu) and risks a defeat by wasting time.

And I really don't see Hiei as a braggart.

I'm wondering if this comes from the dubbed version. The only time he brags is when he's being mocked by someone (Kuwabara most often because of his height, and he brags to Yusuke in the very beginning since he wasn't used to the way Yusuke can triple his strength in the middle of a fight - even though he still has to rely on luck to win ;p ). He states power the way it is - he comes out and says Kurama is more dangerous than him (and he explains this - he means Kurama when he's fighting for someone, and the fact that Kurama understands his enemy before killing him - gaining info for future battles). Hiei does smirk and act confident a lot (why I like him ;p ) - but he doesn't sit around and mouth off during a fight (Kuwabara and Yusuke do this) - he finishes it with as little effort as possible (only using the kokoryuuha when he absolutely has to).

Yeah, I'm not arguing with your choice. ^_^;; I just don't agree with some of the comments about the characterizations.

[And I'm curious about this 'cut-throat' comment - which part of the series did it come from? I know Hiei makes a number of sharp stabs at Kurama for pretending to be a soft sweet human when he has a past as cold and merciless as Hiei does - but those weren't really about fighting abilities so much as about the fact that they're both demons, even if Kurama is playing the sweet "I only kill if I have to" ningen. Hiei usually makes a comment like that when Kurama is 'losing' in a fight - he did it quite a bit in the tournament during Kurama's long bloody fights - "this is Kurama's bad habit" - too lenient and denying his true nature.]
