Re: Does anyone like this picture?
Gundam Wing is....BAD.
I mean, can you have more calculated series than some bishonens going around with colourful mechas*, blowing up plain & grey enemy mechas with a single shot.
Put some silly angst to characters, make them completely uninteresting and superior compared to their surroundings. Top it with protagonist named Hiiro (Hero?) and have Two-mix to do theme music.
Result: One of the worst series of all time.

Heh, they make more money off the model kits. ;p My mom doesn't know much about anime, but she recognized the title 'Gundam Wing' a few years back - enough to get me the Deathscythe Hell, and Wing Zero model kits. Fun times. ^_^Simpi wrote:*Can you just hear some suit theorising 'And then we're gonna sell like thousands of these toys'.....

It's only gay if you're male. If you're female, it's perfectly straight.azulmagia wrote:That picture is as gay as the proverbial christmas cake, it's a queer as the proverbial three dollar bill. Not that there's anything wrong with that.Neo SHINIGAMI wrote:Does anyone like this picture?
BTW Neo Shinigami, I believe your sig is abnormally dilating the forum page, you may need to check it out.

Definitely not true. ^_^;; Though some people might wish it were. All of the guys are paired with a female (though in Trowa's case it's his sister, and Quatre isn't really fond of Dorothy).darkyre wrote:i was under the impression gundam wing unedited had gay love scenes in it. i wouldnt know, i never wanted to watch it *ew* but thats what i heard.

Okay- First off, This is exactly why I cannot be dissuaded in my belief that Gundam Wing is GAY.Neo SHINIGAMI wrote:Does anyone like this picture?
Second off- I knew it was a dude from the first moment. It's kind of tricky, but the genre rules say that the cheeks would have to be fuller and the chin less pointed for it to be female.

Re: Does anyone like this picture?
There are gender rules? Please tell them to me. ^_^;; I've always thought Rosiel (Angel Sanctuary) was a woman - whether he's supposed to be male or not, every part of his features scream 'female' to me. What are the tips to let you know if a character is supposed to be male? [Aside from the lack of breasts, of course. ;p ]Nestorath69 wrote:Second off- I knew it was a dude from the first moment. In regards to the pic:
1. Not too big a fan of the pose...something creepy about it for some reason
2. Not a big fan of the character...at all
I think, if it wasn't for the creation of 'Superior Defender Gundam' (There IS a difference between this and Super Deformed BTW...) and 'Last Blitz of Zeon' I'd rate Wing as my least favorite Gundam series (no, you don't have to point out the username irony...I only stuck with it since I already have vids here under that name...)
In all but one other Gundam show I found myself feeling for the cast...upon rewatching Gundam Wing, I found I felt absolutely nothing for the characters because they were prettymuch soulless killing machines...they angst about it sure, but they then seem to forget this as they turn around and send another 50+ Oz soldiers to Hell...
...but what REALLY tweaks me about the series (...well..it does and it doesn't, allow me to explain) is the bishounen factor...now look, I have no problem with a cast of prettyboys by any stretch, Hell, I honestly felt bad for Garma (old school Gundam prettyboy for ya) when he died...however, the fact that this was being used as one of the major marketing points for Wing was especially disheartening...they worked so much on creating eye candy people and mechs that the story feels incredibly slip-shod by comparison...in short, Wing feels like a giant attempt at Gundam fanservice...no real story, just something nice for the audience to stare at...
Well...sorry about that...in attempting to stay OT, I kind of went on a rant...

Wow, I don't think I've seen so many Gundam Wing haters/homophobes in one thread during my whole stay at the Org.
