That was our club last year, because the president was against showing anything we could just see on TV instead. (There was one night where we were supposed to show all the "plot" episodes of CB, but only 3 of us showed up.)

However, this year, our first Animé Night featured Trigun and FLCL, both of which were shown on Cartoon Network in the past.

Why? Because we wanted to watch them.

I don't have an anime club which sucks! I know lots of people there who like anime but no one will start one. I'm pretty sure we can have one. I was thinking of starting one but I'm not sure I'm up to it.

I go to College at OUC, and, to my surprise, there IS an anime club. I couldn't believe I go to a school that has something like that. It is a club that meets in one of the class rooms in the art building. The club meets EVERY Monday night. They even made a name for their club. C.O.J.A. is what they call it. The J stands for Japanimation, A is for Acedemy, and I forgot what the C and O stand for.

Ours is the TSCE, or the The (repetition intentional) Society for Creative Endeavors.

The main reason the name was changed to this, back in the late 90s, was so that it would have "TSC" somewhere in it.

You see, in 1995, our college changed its name from Trenton State College (TSC) to The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), and some people weren't happy about that. Hell, tons of people weren't happy about it (though I have nothing against the new name, my father still calls it "Trenton State", just like most New Jerseyan adults I've met outside The College), just like tons of people aren't happy about the logo change that the administration pulled on us this past spring without any warning. (The new logo, which can be found at our website, is ugly compared to our old clock tower logo...)

I'm lucky enough to have this:

As the Anime Society is an official student-run club, we get a nice bundle from the school in the yearly budget. I think hotel rooms at conventions are a separate part of the budget, but I'm not sure -- all I remember is that last year, we had a long list of anime to buy, totaling ~$2,000, and just about everything on it was bought. This after we paid for hotel rooms for ACen 2003.

...uh, yeah. In any case, It's great :D

my high school and college has an anime club. the high school one had video games too so it was more of a gaming/anime club. the college one rocks despite shrinking attendence. it's where i got the most exposure and the first place i saw an AMV. w00t!
