That's actually true, to some extent.
The dynamic trio/duo, although present in many genres (buddy films et al), are in part infulenced by the traditional Japanese oragnisational clustering structure: Very small teams forming a huge organisation work best at getting something done, like bacteria.

<anime="Kenshin","Kenshin.Rurouni"="Samurai_X">
Kenshin is more of a anecdotal / character story than one that's objective driven...
So far what I can see it as is a portrayal of the Meiji era, and of course Kenshin, more of the transformations of the character in how he is caught up in this apparent political feud thing.
The kenshin.rurouni subset? Each episode carries it's own message, but the theme is clear that although people should be held accountable for their past actions, but you may have to "let it go".

Watching so many non-objective anime with too much character development and not enough uberviolent action pr0n or whatever.

Time for me to catch up on my pirated HK VCDs!

Battle Athletes:

You are you, and not some one eals. Strive to be the best you can be and do not try to become someone you are not. Realize also to do your best always and do not make excuses for your own short coming's.

"Some time your ahead, Some time your behind. The race is lone and in the end it often with yourself"
Roll the dice, test your fate
Gambling is a fine way to pass the time
The same is true of life and love
In the end, do we really know what we have Or do we only notice after we loose

Well in Gundam-wing the most popular idea that my friends and I have thought up is that "War is bad" lol but i think that there is a whole lot more meaning to it than that like:

"Peace i not something that is just igven to you-"

"Wars are heartless"

"History is like an Endless Waltz, the three beats of war, peace and revolution, continues on forever."

There is so many things that can be discussed about in the topic of war.
