Do not type lol, people often type it but rarely ever laugh. Don't touch that roflmfao either, I'd really like to see someone try typing while rolling around on the floor.

You have to realize that their is a totally different culture that is creating anime. If you take a look at the Japanese society you'll understand better why women may appear differently than the woman of America.
I remember one example was basically this:
If a Japanese woman on the subway gets a feel by a guy she won't do much of anything. If the same occured with an American woman the man would get the crap beat out of him by the American woman.
Japanese women in general are submissive compared to the American kind.
'Woman! Cook me dinner!"
Japanese-"Hai."
American-*kicks man in crotch*
Well, you get the basic idea that I'm trying to convey.....I hope.
Remember also who's creating the anime feature. When you get a group like CLAMP the *men* end up looking feminine.

You know if you think about it, don't most live action movies, comics, and such of the same nature also seem to have "the perfect" actors/actresses on them, the image of the ideal person on films is always the main thing that draws the viewers attention to them. or in anime's prespective they try to draw some ideal ppl. I think it is more harder to draw a typical person on anime than it is to draw an ideal person. but that is my opinion

Haha, yeah i observed that too ... Japanese women are usually submissive and cant really do anything because in Japan, i think that women are viewed as submissive people and would be looked down upon when they dont submit to a guy ... but on the other hand ... here in the states, women have to right to do almost anything, women here are looked up upon when they get very successful in life ... i think that its koo that women here can have the freedom to do anything because i thin they have the right too, just like us guys ... but i also feel that they should be submissive at times just to show some respect and visa versa ...Harlock7876 wrote:You have to realize that their is a totally different culture that is creating anime. The way women are treated, or seen in different countries. Alters from country to country; also- the way they are, depends on the way, they were raised and the effects of their enviroment.
You should watch a whole series of 1 or 2 animes, not just a few episodes, to justify your reasons for your dislike of anime as a whole.
Animation-wise, I can understand, some people don't like altercations to what they have already seen.
-ie. 20 year of western animation then 3 episodes of Agent Aika, you would stand by what you've come to accept as the norm in animation.
Personally, I think there should be an expansion on the reasons why, you don't like something. If it doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, I'll accept that. But, you can't come to a conclusion about someone or something based on 1 incident or or the way they look.
-ie. "He's an ASS because he doesn't Nirvana", "I'm not going out with her, she's UGLY"

I love anime, and i never really thought about this issue until just now...
I don't think it's degrading or anything, though it's understandable on the fact that you say that maybe it is -or whatever-.
'cause in most animes women are portrayed as people with big boobs and long legs, and such. But it's not degrading... at least i don't think so.

Kagome: Really, Inuyasha. Is your vocabulary that small?
Inu: WHAT DID YOU SAY?!
