That's the pretty-much definitive list for licensing queries - if there's been an official announcement of a show being licensed, it will be on this list.

Anyway, to get back on topic, I'm currently very much enjoying Abenobashi Maho Shotengai (and preordering the DVDs ^_^;;)

Anyway... erm... piracy is bad, adult swim is good, well sorta - it's better than the whole load of nothing we get over here ^_^

There is no excuse for buying the bootleg of Outlaw Star. It's one of the more reasonably priced series out there. Eight or Nine episodes for $40, no reason to rip a company off that's actually giving you a good deal. And since when is Pioneer licensing Outlaw Star? I really hope no one answers your questions, just like we do with the software pirates.

ugh HK bootlegs...so lame, people making money off of other people's work, no profit goes to the jap companies correct? the most i do is fansubs when the series hasnt been licensed, otherwise i just buy the dvds

About Adult Swim:

Yu Yu Hakusho - It is the TV series. And what they show on Adult Swim is still edited, even though it is supposed to be for the "adult" viewing. Bleh.

Outlaw Star - Dubbing on it is just fine. No need to get Honk-Kong Bootleg's. What you see on Adult Swim and what you get from the unedited:

1) Gene IS more perverse.
2) Melphina does show more. Especially in the tube / chamber of the ship.
3) You miss out on an episode all together on the Adult Swim. (It's the hot springs ep., where Gene goes and picks up the special caster shells. In this episode, it's all about hot and steamy, as point to phrase, and you see Aisha Clan-Clan totally up in the buff!!! (More than once I might add. ^_^ ).

Well as far as hong kong rips go. Just before Gatekeepers was liscenced we bought the hong kip. All episodes for 70 bucks. THe chinese translators did not know english It was impossible to watch. Rurippe somehow becomes xiangslou? what the hell???? Now I have bought all the ones released commercially and it's a great dub. Never ever buy hong kong rips unless there is no chance of the series getting released.
