More eps would of been great, it would probablly go on to show who actually got Kazuya.Hand Maid May. Though weighing in at 11eps, this one too seemed to short. I wish there could be more, and yet there was a Hand maid Mai made, but alas, it was canceled due to bankruptcy and only the first ep got released.
MacDougal did mention that there where other sites, I guess it would go on to show them stopping them at those.Spriggan. Good movie, but too damn short. Another victim of a condensed story.

I only dislike short series if they don't feel complete. FLCL feels complete--if it were to be made longer, I'd stretch out the eps rather than add more at the end (I view it as a 26-ep anime condensed into 6). Fruits Basket (26 eps), on the other hand, doesn't feel complete--the ending worked, but I felt like there should be more to it than that--it left just a few too many questions unanswered. (Plus I really liked the series and would love to see more.)

Hmm...I like many a short series....
For example, Nightwalker, Sakura Diaries etc...As I think Trident mentioned, I basically just feel disappointed if I don't feel it ended, (how I despise cliffhanger/muddled endings...)
I didn't like Blood for the sole purpose that I got too hyped up about it, and it didn't meet my expectations...I was bored....though perhaps I should check out the dvd since I only have the vhs version

I liked Blood. It was like a brief look into another world. Lots of questions about what's going on behind the scenes, but it's 45 minutes long, no commitment. I liked that. It was like "He're a peek."
Boogiepop Phantom was tight, but I've only seen 12 episodes- and according to Tech TV it's only those 12 episodes. (Or 13) I was happy with it.
I've become bored with the standard 24-26 episode format. Often times, the 26 episode format is for unnessesary comedy and sight-gags. (Eva, Trigun, etc....) They could keep the storyline serious and save a few episodes. (Personal opinion, of course)
So, the shorter series are more likely to catch my attention. Oh My Goddess is an exception: It felt lacking- like there should have been much much more. (BTW, I'm working on an AMG video even as we speak.)
Listen. I grew up on Short stories. Ray Bradbury was the master of the short story and the hanging ending. I met the man. He definitely knew his shit. And whenever i see a series end with unanswered questions, I think about Bradbury's style. It ends, but you keep going. So you have to draw your own conclusions. What really was behind the door? I find that it's far more rewarding to me if I have to think, rather than have everything spelled out for me. I don't piss and moan about the Evangelion 'mysteries' Because I've already drawn my own conclusions.
In conclusion, my statement on Shorter series: Draw what you can from them and appreciate them for what they are: A brief glimpse into another world. No one can answer your questions, the windows don't carry your voice to their ears. You have to draw your own conclusions.

I love Boogiepop Phantom- Each episode is a story in it's own right, and they all interconect, and are all delightfully fucked up. Beats the shit out of Evangelion any day.

Ditto, in less colorful language. Highly recommended. And the soundtrack rocks as well; I highly recommend "Yuudachi", "Mirai Seiki Maruhi Club", "Torso", "Snow Coast", "Delirious", "Gataway", and "Pone".Nestorath69 wrote:I love Boogiepop Phantom- Each episode is a story in it's own right, and they all interconect, and are all delightfully fucked up.
That's the only part I disagree with, but I'm sure this kind of question has already been discussed to death.Nestorath69 wrote:Beats the shit out of Evangelion any day.
