If you're looking for printed media, which I recommend, you've probably already read the Tokyopop releases. So:

I can read the script, and some of the kanji but as for Japanese, only bacis flags/operators, I don't have one of those leetle black booklets that the tourists use to translate stuff, so I can't do it...

Just to answer a couple of the posts so far, I was surprised Trigun didn't get mentioned until just then. Hell, I'm ashamed that I didn't even think of Trigun until he mentioned it and I've already seen the series. Oh and for the most part I like action, swords/sorcery, and romance if that helps for any future posts.
