I don't mind him. And yes, the next one does look awesome!

"Ray" looks fat? Asuka has a facial problem?

What?

What kind of standards are you guys setting these drawings against? Real girls, or anime? They look like very realistic females with almost perfect dimensions--do you really expect them to find 14-year-olds with size 0 waists and double-D breasts like the anime characters?

Hint: when cartoon not only starts looking more attractive than real life but you demand that real life live up to cartoon standards, it's time to take a break from the television.

Weta isn't the only company working on the Live Action Eva Movie. In fact, GAINAX is also responsible for the production as well, since they are the ones who produced the Anime in the first place. That said, firstly, why would they change the character names? If they want the movie to totally bite, then yeah, they'll change them, otherwise, they're going to keep the same names.

And that is the extent of my rant and knowledge of the movie.

If you want to see an interview about the movie, check out the recently released "Director's Cut" DVD that contains Evangelion episodes 21 to 23.

What are you even trying to say here? Of course we aren't arguing about the actors, the movie isn't casted yet. However, we have been given a glimpse of what they currently intend the characters to look like, so that's what we are outraged about. Obviously eveybody cares about how the characters are acted.

Except that "Ray" looks a hell of a lot fatter than "Kate Rose"

No, but since Rei and Asuka don't have dimensions like that, I don't expect that to be a problem. Face it, Asuka got implants in Episode 9 and had them removed a few episodes later. Come on, that's the only explanation!
