Looks kinda interesting. From what I can tell seems like it might be a little reminescent of Evangelion or RahXephon. Any comments? Is it worth picking up the series?

No
Argento soma, ah the memories....
It starts out pretty well but end up being totally different. It is not like RahXephon or Evangelion because the main character is not a protagonist nor does he pilot the mecha. Hmmm....The end takes on what seems like a whole new story and only at the very end does it get back onto the plot they started with. It has it's redundant Enemy per episode stereotypical battle type stuff for a while with the occasional lechture ep or small recap (one lecture episode really sticks out, no recaps made it into my memory).
Granted this was almost 3 years ago when I first saw it. However this is only my opinion. Take it with however many tons of salt you want....sorry, no sugar.

When I first saw the anime, I thought it was sort of cliched, but it's enough to keep me entertained (if it's by Sunrise, it must ne good, right?). Heck, I watch it just to hear the English VA for Ryo Soma (which is by the way Steve Cannon who also did Kamui's voice in the X TV series). The enemies, however, looked pretty lame, and the ending song is THE WORST compared to the opening song.
