Hmm...how about Sakura Diaries. It's one no one's mentioned, and is all romance drama basically...with some comedy added in. Made me tearful a few times >.> ....but I'm easily moved to tears... >.<

There is also Ai Yori Aoshi. of course i just started watching it today. not bad thus far. kind of reminds me of a cross between love hina and tenchi.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Wait until the next disk. It gets worse. Far worse. The first and last disks form a nearly completely seperate plotline.

Anyway, I'm bent on making an argument for Crest of the Stars (and, by extension, Banner) as a good romantic series with action elements. The main plotline is very dramatic and romantic, but the space battles are a marvel to behold. Of course, the whole idea is a very serious romance in the middle of a tragic war, so take it or leave it.

In Escaflowne, I felt that the plot almost got derailed by the romance. Not to mention all the emotional waffling and competition, which made things worse. I'm of the opinion that the ending seemed rushed for a reason.

I'm fairly certain that it neither has been nor is likely to get shown like that. It's not that good.

hmm Romance/Comedy.....

For me would have to be Chobits, it does an exceptional job of taking a serious look at love and examining the thin line between what is real and what is fake, with nonstop laughs along the way :D
