Sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that. The squealing fangirl is just a stereotype that I was complaining about (and there are a lot of those).Spyros Tyrakis wrote: Well not all yaoi and shoujo-ai fans are female. i'm male and i love yaoi and shoujo-ai.
Didn't mean to suggest that; perish the thought.

Yea, the squealing fangirl is a sterotype to complain about. Don't worry you didn't insult me or anything, i was just pointing out that not all shounen-ai and yaoi fans are female.SarahtheBoring wrote:Sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that. The Fake OVA isn't very graphic...not half as graphic as the manga, from what I've heard. There's another one out there called "Song of Wind and Trees" or "Sanctus" (I've heard both for the same anime) that's supposed to be one of the oldest shounen ai/yaoi. I've been hunting for it but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Another one is Kashou no Tsuki. Where IS Arigatomyna?
Please don't start debating over the yaoi/shonen ai thing again people! That sort of thing ALWAYS gets these threads locked.

Working on a very tedious vid. ^_^;;ryuu_hime13 wrote:Where IS Arigatomyna?
But most of the anime I'd have named were already listed. As for the yaoi versus shonen ai argument - agree to disagree. It's all a matter of culture when it comes to the way we take the words. The actual meanings are blunt - shonen ai = boy love and yaoi = no climax, no meaning, no resolution. Whether or not boy love includes sex is a matter of opinion - I think boys in love can have sex. But when you say anything with hardcore sex is automatically yaoi then you have to discount a number of anime from being shonen ai just because the people express that 'boy love' through sex. I consider yaoi = sex, shonen ai = emotions. If the anime has both, I consider it yaoi with shonen ai (sex with emotions). If it were yaoi alone it would be "without meaning" which would discount any anime that had a point besides the sex. And that doesn't work with Boku no Sexual Harrassment (the biggest 'yaoi' anime) since that anime has romance and emotions as well as the hardcore sex. It would be yaoi and shonen ai if you insist on separating them. But it would not ever be "without meaning" unless you deny that romance and emotional love can have meaning when it includes physical expression.
/end usual rant
As for anime with yaoi (in the loose term that Sarah hates so much - meaning yaoi and shonen ai, or romance and physical love) the main ones were listed.
For shonen ai (romance without any proof of sex between the lovers) I'd add:
Psychic Force (if you don't know what Keith says at the end, then you're not a shonen ai fan)
Yu Yu Hakusho (Sensui and Itsuki - they're the only 'real' male/male couple in that anime)
Card Captor Sakura (Toya and Yuki, Yue and Clow)
Sailormoon (it has a number of them - the guys who were turned into girls in the edited version, but Fiore and Momoru remains)
Angel Sanctuary (Rosiel and Katan - any guys who kiss get counted as shonen ai, no matter what the reason)
Mirage of Blaze (can't remember their names, but the main three guys have a sort of triangle that ends up being a single pairing - complete with another of those 'non' kisses and an attempted make-out session)
Rurouni Kenshin (Kamatari/Soujiro/Shishio - definitely the crossdresser)
Magic Knight Rayearth (Lantis/Eagle - really a threesome if you add Hikaru, but I'm listing the guys here ^.~ )
Gundam Wing (Trowa/Quatre - not completely official but it's about as blatant as you can get in a supposedly 'non' shonen ai anime)
And I forget the ones that have been listed, so forgive me if I repeat with the next ones -
Sorcerer Hunters (Gateau/Marron - just watch the dubbed version or read the manga - it's pretty open ;p )
Magic Users Club (Aburatsubo and that ugly guy he flirts with - can't remember his name...)
Yeah...can't think of more off the top of my head that haven't been mentioned.
But for the record, if you count yaoi as any anime that shows guys having sex then Yami no Matsuei is yaoi. The rape scene has motion whether it zooms in for the penetration or just shows the shadowy outlines of the bodies. To me, that isn't the same as the shonen ai you have in Earthian where they are in the bed but never so much as kiss on the lips before separating. That's my cut off for 'explicite' - if there's penetration it's nc-17 in a fic, for an anime it means it's yaoi whether it includes shonen ai or not. And the manga is much more blatant (you get oral sex as well in the flashbacks of the rape when they're on the ship - not yaoi? Bagh, then yaoi doesn't mean explicite versus 'boy love'.)
