You know? I never really saw the idea of Spike and Faye as a couple lasting...
Not so much because I'm a canon-whore (although I do plead guilty to that charge as well)...more because I don't see it working in the long run
Sure, it might play out for a little while, but in the long-run the two of them are just too independent to keep a hold on each other
What Spike and Faye each respectively need is someone who's little more down to Earth, to keep them grounded, for Spike, it was Julia, for Faye...they never make that clear (although theoretically, one could assume Jet, but I'll stop there before I get my face ripped off for that suggestion.)

Cowboy Bebop is by far my all time favorite anime. Normally romance animes are one of my favorite types, and i'm normally looking and thinking that people should be together, but one thing about Bebop is that i never thought that.
It was a great change, not once when i watched the entire show did i ever think, maybe spike and faye should be together and i liked that. I never at one moment thought anything about romance with them, all i thought about was spikes feelings for julia and that was only in the actually plot episodes. I do love how they portrayed the story of spike and julia. Bebop is such an amazing show. Outside of that i never thought of Bebop as this couple show, which i tend to do a lot, but i really enjoyed that fact.
I love talking Bebop so much... this threads are nice to see.

My belief is that Spike never had any interest in Faye at all. She was more of a comrade than anything else. As for Spike not wanting to threaten his thing with Julia, I don't think its true. Throughout the series, Spike had hardly given any thought about her until someone mentions her name. And if you had seen the Bebop movie, Spike did, in fact, displayed interest in Electra and even told a bit of his past to her, something he never did with the Bebop crew until the very end.

Ah, good point. Electra would be a better choice than Faye also. I don't think Spike and Faye would be any kind of 'Dream Matchup' or anything, but it is workable. The thought of the CB movie didn't even occur to me until it was mentioned just now.demented wrote:My belief is that Spike never had any interest in Faye at all. I did mention the movie before actually, just take a look at the last two lines of my post near the top of the page (page 3 in case this post is in page 4). But I guess I didn't make that point stand out well enough. O well.Cloud Clone wrote:The thought of the CB movie didn't even occur to me until it was mentioned just now.

Ah, sorry, I just wasn't thinking of the movie for some reason and just focused on the series. But I got it now. Anyways, I'd really like to see what happened after the last episode. The rest of the crew was still alive...what did they do without Spike!?
