Stab in the Back, New DBZ Dub
My god.. if you EVER thought that you knew what the worst dub in the world could sound like... you know NOTHING!!!
the 'stab in the back' that i'm refering to, is the newest dbz movie dub of movie 9 (no known eng. title, japanese title seems to be 'Bojack'), it's so godaweful, that i consider this dub to be a stab in the back of all the people that have EVER supported the US release of Dragonball/Z/even GT
the eng dub is not released yet as far as i know, it just so happened that luck (or mis-fortune) smiled (or frowned) upon me and blessed (or cursed) me with a sample of the newest release, so yes, i have heard BOTH the english and japanese version and let me tell you... there is no contest between the two options
...i think the best voice actor in this english dub was one of the announcers.. even the random crowd calls were badly dubbed
the ONLY good thing i can say about the english version is that it kept all the japanese sound fx and background music
if anyone thinks they are brave (or foolish) enough to try and sit through this movie like i did, i welcome the challenge, just find me on msn messenger or just PM me and we can work out something
--
i will say this though, i didn't see any kind of label anywhere, so it's POSSILBE that somebody fan-DUBBED the sucker, considering that NONE of the voices sound like the regular english VA's, its very possible
it's also sorta neat to note that this dub actually makes use of child actors for gohan (probably the only child in the movie) ... but sadly uses an even more childlike voice for a character who is simply short... not young
And for those of you out there that hate Goku's high-pitched voice, well FEAR NO MORE! goku is here with an all new deeper voice... beware
