VanHellsing/Vampire D
From just watching Van Hellsing I have to mention this is the BEST vampire/wwf (wearwolf) movie EVER MADE!!!
Underworld was just bs, too many guns and their wwf's looked like baboons... anyway I have come across something that those D's fans might want to know..
Hugh Jackman as Van Hellsing is the absolute splitting image of Vampire Hunter D, the hat, cape, attitude! and ect are all identical, the only diffrences are .. without giving away the movie, D uses a sword VanH does not, and another thing that would give away the Hellsing character....(diffrences).
Anyone else with to rebuttle this? Hey or even agree!

pfft, yeah well i dont enjoy movies where vampires are steriotyped like crazy, i enjoy it when movies take a diffrent approach from all that bs everyone believes about vampires, oh well believe what you want, i dont enjoy watching a vampire be killed by a slight ray of sun, or some bullshit holy water or a stake! You should try reading White Wolf's books their approach upon the whole vampire scene is much much better and alot more believable.

...was that suppose to be some sort of reply to AD?SS3_Eldrin wrote:pfft, yeah well i dont enjoy movies where vampires are steriotyped like crazy, i enjoy it when movies take a diffrent approach from all that bs everyone believes about vampires, oh well believe what you want, i dont enjoy watching a vampire be killed by a slight ray of sun, or some bullshit holy water or a stake! or was that just to add to ur initial post?...
anyways, i don't think Hugh Jackman is the spittin' image (i'll say splittin'/spittin' however i want ) of D from vampire hunger. Hugh Jackman isn't very tall, D on the other hand is very tall, plus he's scrawny in a way, yeah he's powerful as all hell, but physically, he's not to intimidating without his height... and ignoring the super long sword on his back, so i don't think he'd be a good fit to play D
is it even right to say that vampires are stereotyped... i guess it makes sense in a way, but unless we actually get scientific proof that vampires exist and then learn that they aren't all crazy, people can say what they want
but yeah, i like to believe in the myth of the proper vampire with high class nobilities and all that jazz

Are you saying that Dracula is a steriotype crap vampire? Come on man, even the vampires from Vampire Hunter D regard him as God! No one can beat Dracula!
But anyway.... since you've seen the movie, please answer me this - how is Dracula/whatever vampire(s) are in the movie portrayed? In the previews I see a beastly wigned creature, that's not a vampire, is it? Vampire's aren't brutes.

Haven't seen Van Helsing yet, and probably won't for a while.
From what I've heard though, I'm not missing too much. I've been told that they did a crappy job picking the actor for Dracula. Apparently the guy can't act, so Dracula comes off as a real flat character.
As far as Van Helsing and D similarities: other than the fact they look gothy, I don't see any similarities whatsoever.
Oh, and D is still more bad ass.
My favorite take on vampire lore is that of Hellsing. (yes people get the spelling right, Van Helsing: 1 L, Hellsing: 2 Ls.)

I agree with 'bums' last post. Van Helsing was too cliche'ish. D is so much better. I felt so bad for him when he didn't get the girl who he sorta fell in love with...twice!(two girls i mean) oh well...ya'll prolly don't care...

First off, get your heads out of your asses. Van Helsing had horrid acting, at least on Dracula's part, that guy should of been sodomized for his performance, it was like watching one of the old stage drama's where everyone talks loud to emphasize the emotion, which gets really campy. They should of just snatched up Gary Oldman and re-casted him as the big D again. Also comparing it to anime is pointless when...well..there is no real anime influence to begin with.
IMO, Underworld was much better altogether. As for the werewolf concepts, each movie had it's ups and downs. As for the Frankenstien monster, De Niro still pwns out of all the versions.
Now after saying this I do say that I did somehow enjoy Van Helsing as a good adventure film, but you won't see sparks flying from it. I'm hoping Troy and Chronicles of Riddick do that for me.
