... just research the topics in the forums, reading old threads makes a lot more sense than opening a new one and waiting and waiting for good responses, it's just faster that way
happy researching 8)
just starting searching the forum... u should be able to do it on ur own
either actually browse the forum or use the search function to dig the deeper threads

Oh god, here we go. Well, here's the official line (stolen for the purposes of my latest video):72J wrote:someone pleese tell me what the hell the plot of this anime is i mean it looks so borring try and tell me th good and bad points of this anime
At the dawn of the new millennium...
mankind has awakened a threat unlike any faced before - the Angels.
Conventional weapons are useless against them.
They can only be stopped by means of the Evangelions -
bio-engineered vessels born from the Angels' own technology.
But this forbidden knowledge is also the key to bringing about
a startling new genesis for the human race. <b>Placed in the hands of three young pilots,
the final fate of humanity resting upon their shoulders, the Evas are the world's last hope.
Manking faces a crisis unlike any in human history. To confront this threat,
one young boy now boards a machine created by the world's top scientists and engineers.
The ultimate all-purpose humanoid weapon: EVANGELION</b>
The first half of Eva, pretty much, is a teenage mecha comedy. The second half is probably best described as a GAiNAX mind-f***, with plot twists up the Wazoo, very nasty things happening to the characters, startling revelations, and a maddening lack of other revelations.
Basically, you've got these otherworldly beings known as the Angels who show up in Tokyo-3 (well, except for Gaghiel) bent on destruction, and the huge bio-mechs known as the Evangelions are the only weapons humanity has capable of stopping them. But of course, there is MUCH more to the Angels, the Evas, and NERV (the agency responsible for building and operating the Evas) than first meets the eye.
The main characters (aka a major force behind the plot):
<b>Shinji</b> - spineless wimp (somewhat less so in the manga), rather avoidant, pilots a big purple bio-mech
<b>Gendo</b> - Shinji's father, a mean and manipulative bastard who wants to control the future evolution of humanity
<b>Rei</b> - seemingly emotionless ice queen, pilots a big orange-cum-blue bio-mech
<b>Asuka</b> - firey redhead whose defence mechanism of choice is to be loud and mean, pilots a big red bio-mech
<b>Ritsuko</b> - doctor of who-knows-what who can type faster than anyone else and runs the technical side of NERV
<b>Misato</b> - loud, beer-guzzling slob who somehow is also the commander of tactical operations at NERV
<b>Kaji</b> - unshaven spy who is obsessed with discovering the truth
It's worth mentioning at this point that almost every character, with the possible exception of Pen-Pen, has psychological issues of some kind, most of which have a major impact on how things go in the second half.
I'm sure someone else can give a better summary than this. But seriously, WATCH THIS SERIES. It may not change your life or how you think about anime. You might not even like it in the end. But at least you'll know what everyone else is talking about and be better able to appreciate the thousands of NGE AMVs out there.
All right, that's it from one half of the Non-Masturbatory Evangelion Fanboys.

if u think it's too boring to watch... then u've already made up ur mind that it sux.. no one really wants to convince someone to watch sumthing against their will72J wrote:dont u think i already thought of that thats why i wrote this post i think its too boring to watch it unless someone or something convinces me that it s good
ur approaching eva all wrong, just watch it like u would watch anything else, and after that, if u feel u came away from it with something, good for you, if not, you have two choices
1-watch it again, but not as a regular easily understood anime, watch it as u would read a book, in a book u have to read everything and u can't go on until you understood what just happened, so do that, watch an episode and make sure you understand what just happened, even if it was just an eva/angel fight, understand that and make a point as to how the angel fought.. move on
2-be happy that u watched it all and ... move on
i was gonna say that if u think it's too boring to watch, then i think ur too boring for me to talk too and try to explain this series too... but that'd be closer-minded [hint-hint, don't be closed-minded]
essentially, eva is about the relationship that we all have with one another and how we shield ourselves from pain by putting up whatever defenses we put up, ultimately i'd have to spoil the series in order to tell you the climax... which i should since ur asking, but part of watching something is too watch for ur own purpose and find ur own answers... so do that
...and research, if u already researched before you made the topic, you shouldn't have had to make the topic, maybe look past the first page of results... i'm not gonna give u links if that's what ur holding out for

One of the reasons NGE is such a popular series for AMVs is that there are so many different aspects of it that can be concentrated on. In addition to the obvious mindless mecha action video, you also have romances (Shinji-Asuka, Shinji-Rei, even things like <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... oru-Rei</a>), angsty dramas, apocalyptic horrors, silly comedies, and some that are pretty much <a href="http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=759">a combination of everything</a>.72J wrote:yea i no but if u wana become a great amime music creator <b>u gotta see thinggs from all sides of the story</b> u cant just burn the book and not care
It just makes a great source pool, really.
