*why the topic was deleted ill never freakin know.....* But anyway *freakin ass holes* can anyone please tell me why on japanese version of the yaoi genre in anime world *notably the more hentai series like Level C and Ai No Kusabi* why is it that the more submission patern of the relationship called himself a Unicorn ???? and the dominant one agrees with this title deeming it appropriate....i just want to know why.....

The first thread was moved because it was incomprehensible. This second thread is only barely so. And if you can't figure out the unicorn reference perhaps you shouldn't be watching yaoi?

I haven't seen either of these anime yet, so the term 'unicorn' is a new one on me. ^_^;;

But it probably has to do with the idea of a unicorn in mythology - innocent, passive (non-violent in modern terms though they were once considered vicious judges of innocent or guilty people, killing with their horns), beautiful, virginal (could only be touched by female virgins in most legends), and something of trophy types - sought after. As for the term being used in yaoi, well unicorn does mean 'one horn' so that's pretty blatant.

if a topic gets deleted then its for a reason. if you take it upon yourself to recreate a deleted topic then ou should expect an asskicking from the admins, probably paizu (or whatever his name is, he's kicked my ass a fair bit, but ive bein keeping it clean lately so he's backed off

I have no... freaking... clue what you're talking about with the unicorn thing. The usual word for bottom is "uke"; maybe you're hearing it strangely? I've never heard anything mentioning unicorns in conjunction with yaoi.

...I still have no idea what you're talking about, basically. And just FYI, cussing at the people with the power to lock your threads and/or ban you is not a good idea.

Maybe it's a subtitle change - I'm betting she watched these anime fansubbed. But then again, I've still never heard an anime actually say the word 'uke' *in* the anime, yaoi or otherwise. If they did say 'uke' then maybe they subtitled (translated it) as 'unicorn', but I have trouble imagining an anime that comes out and says 'uke' since I've never heard of one like that.

Another possibility - pet names. That's what I was thinking, that the semes in these anime just happen to use that name for their ukes. Wouldn't be any stranger than some calling their ukes 'baka' as if it were a term of endearment. ;p

Ahh dear Arigatomnya, i do commend u and find myself in agreement with ur thoughts on the matter. But yes the title of question is Unicorn and not Uke....
