Yes, does anyone know if anyone has any intention of bringing over the rereleases that Noako Takeuchi has drawn up? They feature new covers and stuff (see below for some examples) and I was wondering if I should look into either importing them somehow (or hoping they pop up at a convention) or biding my time for Del Ray or Tokyopop or someone to bring them over.
Has anyone heard anything?
^so pretty.

This is the first I've ever heard of any "re-release" of the Sailor Moon manga. Any more info on it, Moonlight?

oO....Manga Style.net wrote:The Sailor Moon manga is being reprinted in 12 deluxe editions with new cover art, new colour pages, special sticker seals, retouched art, and more pages per book. The covers say "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" above the Japanese characters to coincide with the live action release.
I want them....
That's about the best description that I can find. I first found out about them through the PGSM episodes, they had special offers for viewers to send in post cards to win the first couple of volumes.

A "tankoubon" is literally a graphic novel. Those manga volumes you pick up at the store? That's a "tankouban."
These re-released tankouban are referred to as "kanzenban," at least in the DragonBall world. Over the last year, Toriyama did the same thing... the DB manga was condensed from 42 to 34 volumes, with new cover-art drawn for each volume.
DB received a new-found revival in Japan with tons of new merchandise (along with it on DVD in Japan for the first time), and SM's getting the same with the new live-action show. The kanzenban releases are really just more ways to cash-in on the fad, again.
