first off, let me say i love hentai. i'm not some weird shut-in who spends all their time watching it and has no life, but i do love hentai. (and i don't think i'm sick in the head, either, though i mean really no one's totally sane).
and the thing of it is, my tastes are the rape hentai and the monster tentacle hentai and what not. this is my personal taste. normal consensual does nothing for me. i have nothing against hentai that only has consensual, and there are some that i like because of the plot or because they're funny, but being turned-on wise it just gets nothing outta me.
there's nothing wrong with rape in hentai. i don't go around raping people because of the stuff i watch. it's FANTASY, and that's what makes it okay. it's not real. and it doesn't condone this kind of behavior. it just satisfies certain people's tastes. if you don't like a certain type of hentai, don't watch it. but i hate seeing people say that someone's sick just because they have certain tastes.
rape in hentai is different than rape in anime and what not. in hentai you're not really supposed to get emotionally attached to those characters. you go into it knowing that they're gonna get it and get it good. a lotta times they make the girls really stupid or really evil so that you don't feel pity for them. however, i've seen Now and Then, Here and There. i almost cried. rape is a horrible crime, i think it's one of the worst things someone could do. in anime and stories where you get emotionally attached to a character you damn well should feel bad if they get raped. but it's a very different thing than what's in hentai.
some hentai has great plots. urotsukidoji is great. bible black is pretty good. so is inma seiden. karakuri ninja girl is funny, as is koihime. some hentai has no plot or crappy plots, but that's fine. you hafta take it for what it is: adult animation. sometimes it's meant to serve one purpose and one purpose alone (hint: it's not plot immersion).
some people don't like hentai because it's not real, it's a cartoon. personally, i like it more than live action. the girls in hentai usually really cute and i mean because it's animation you can do stuff that you can't do in live action (tentacles, tentacles, tentacles). i don't find live action stuff to be that great; a lot of times the girls are... icky looking. plus, japanese girls sound cuter.
i'm not saying all hentai is good, some sucks (anyone ever seen anything by five ways?). it's just too bad some people don't appreciate japanese adult animation. the character design (i'm really big on character design), the plot (sometimes), the sex scenes. if you don't like it, fine, that's your opinion, but be respectful of other people's feelings towards it.
