I quote some guy off DBZ, "I have implodied the core thingy! Plantet go BOOM! in 1 hours." I came back the next monday, and the planet exploded. How is that an hour?

But I did like that idea of not talking about it anymore and hope it dies.

I dislike DBZ because It didn't have enough story potential. It was like a butterfly without wings! I think a pinch of drama, a dash of suspense, a handful of action, an amazing cast of characters, the perfect plot, and better music would have made the series better. I used to watch the series up until DBGT was released in America. I lost the enjoyment in it. It gets more suckier and dumber in each following saga...

Take it for what it is

Lay off people. Your expecting to much from something that was never meant to deliver depth.

The original Dragonball began as a short little comic strip dedicated to something that gets lost in the edited english anime version.

That is, a bunch sexual jokes involving Goku's innocence and Bulma. A little fighting was tossed in for some action of a different kind.

DBZ swapped it around and focused on fight scenes instead of dirty jokes.

If you have seen any of the movies you know it was just a way to establish enough story to have a bad-ass fight sequence.

Forumla: alien comes, people get beat up, goku beats up henchmen, goku gets beat up, and finally goku beats the hell out of whatever.

It does lack for some replay value which is why people tend to grow apart from it. But it remains an important gateway anime.

Oh and it was so damn long because when it got to the end people wanted more. Then when got to the next end people wanted even more. Etc.

If you notice certain sections are just there to occupy space while they thought up a new saga. An example would be the Great Saiyaman Saga.

I think DBZ is great.... maybe not great as an anime series, but when your over here in America and you turn on Cartoon Network and DBZ is on it beats the hell out of Tom and Jerry. Second of all I think that its a great series for beginner anime watchers to get into. I got my dad watching DBZ a while back, and now he's graduated to better animes. He was completely un-interested at first and now he calls me every other day saying he needs to come over and get his anime fix, lmao. Besides, I don't think DBZ was ever meant to be an anime that would mess with your head, or make you cry, or anything else...

I will just say one thing, forgive me if its already been stated.

DBZ = reeealy long, unnessisarily drawn out fights, 5 minute fights that last 20 episodes O_o actual fighting techniques consists of realy fast disapearing and reapearing frames that don;t realy show much skill as a fighter, but looks more like pointless fist and feet exchanges. BUT DBZ also has strong emotion, great story line (hidden amongst all the unnessisarily long action sequences) and great character development. the Supersaiyan gohan scene is one of the most memoriable scenes in all of dragonball hsitory, when number 16 (i think) was killed. In short, DBZ is good, but could have easily been great as just 36 or so episodes. Much of it is realy unessisary. It also gets tiring watching the same 2 people fight for 10 episodes when you just want to see what happens next in the actual story. Especially when your watching it on TV, 1 episode a day.

I don't hate DBZ, but I'm also not an avid fan anymore. I will however not ignore DBZs strong points like some people tend to do based on the influence of the "seeminlgy Ignorant fandum" following it and the many faults it does have.

In short, as others have said, its what you make it out to be.

Fight Club

It feels like that when you fight.

Time sort of expands and contrasts. You really do feel like you could fly in a good match.

well GT as far as the episodes I saw of it is just seems to be pure fun. theres realy no real plot to it, at least not early on. I only saw the first 8 episodes though, so....

I never really had a problem with it..but after a while..it started getting annoying, so I then begun to hate it. ^.^ but in the end, everyone hates something they onced like/loved.
The sky turns black. The lights go out. That is when all the creatures of hell come out to play. Wana play too?
