I think Spike is hot, not Vicious. But I guess if I do look at him long enough he may appear attractive...X_x

There is something to be said about Spike's take on fighting and death compared to Vicious. I mean, Spike isn't exacly invincible
- Episode 1, Asteroid Blues: He was about to be choked to death until the lady told him to let go.
- Episode 5, Ballad of Fallen Angels: Vicious got shot in the chest, yet just seconds later, he friggin' palmed[/d] Spike's head and threw him off the cathedral. Spike was lucky to survive.
- Episode 12, Jupiter Jazz part 1: All Lin had to do was switch that tranquilizer with a bullet. Spike would have been finished.
- Episode 19, Wild Horses: He would have burned to death in the Swordfish if "Old Man" hadn't overheard the conversation on the radio.
- Episode 20, Pierrot la Fou: He was staring down a gun barrel until he was saved by random kitties. TWICE.
- Knockin' on Heaven's Door: The gun was put to his head while he was kneeling. Goner.
... Did I make my point?

Wow, A.H.! Nice necropost! But anyhow, there's nothing attractive about Vicious unless you count his sense of style, I guess. Spike is sooo much cooler!
A.H., I also don't believe you communicated your point well. Your examples should included quotes as to what the characters say about death and fighting, as opposed to just events that took place. For example, Spike doesn't care much if he dies, so that explains why his approach to battle is throwing himself in the middle and that lack of fear or caring whether he lives or dies is what makes him such a great lead character and hero.
Vicious, on the other hand, is usually surrounded by support, but he seems to resent it. In a way, I think he would actually like to be more like Spike. A bit of envy going on.

You're lucky... I've decided to let you live to see the day when I will rule the world.

Right. That's what I'm saying. Where am I losing you here?Cloud Clone wrote:Spike doesn't care much if he dies, so that explains why his approach to battle is throwing himself in the middle and that lack of fear or caring whether he lives or dies is what makes him such a great lead character and hero.

Something else I missed: When Vicious was the one facing death (Real Folk Blues, part 2), he had something planned. The crow. Spike, as far as I can recall, never plans on anything for a fight. Including the outcome.
Quotes? Fine.
Ep 18, Speak Like a Child (acutally the opposite of my point, but oh well):
Jet: "I'm gonna find out what's on that tape if it kills me."
Spike: "*tsk* It just might. Do you really think it's worth it?"
Ep 19, Wild Horses:
Spike: "Duhan, you saved my ass."
Duhan: "Not yet. Most of the heat resistant tiles have peeled off. The temperature is rising...."
Spike: "Oh well! Whatever happens... happens."
Ep 20, Mad Pierrot:
Spike: "Maybe this is the one... the one I don't come back from... the end....... *to Faye* Just playing with your head."
Can I go now?
