I hope your joking...come on, say the punch line...no...damn

Then it is time we get you into some real animes. What age group are we looking at here? So I can give GOOD suggestions. (just so I don't suggest Hellsing to an 11 year old. Just cause it happened for me doesn't mean it's gonna happen for everyone else  )
i dont suggest watching akira and doomed megalopolis at the age of 9 either;; unlike yours truly :)
No man, were trying to screw up the kids!!!! WORK WITH ME HERE!

My sister saw Mononoke Hime when she was nine... I don't think violence is that bad... (then again, I saw Nightmare on Elm Street when i was three or so... and Akira when I was 11...)
hi bye

I think it was Sailor moon but i'm not too sure about it. I didn't know the difference between anime and cartoons. And there were some shows with some space sherifs or something like that but damn, it's been a long time since that happened. What really got me into anime was definitely Rurouni Kenshin.

Vampire Hunter D on Cartoon Network introduced me to anime, the big tryad of DBZ, Sailor Moon and Pokemon got me hooked on it.
Probably too busy to be here right now.

Yep, you got that one. :) Picked up the name as an online alias years ago, since I liked Tylor, and his personality does rather match mine. Never thought up anything else I liked enough to change it, so it's sorta stuck now.

And the title was Irresponsible Captain Tylor, so you were close. Misadventures is a good description though.
TheKorovaMilkbar wrote:Cause if it does then you didn't mention that great anime. I watched that on the international channel after uncut, unsubbed DBZ a few times.

Haven't heard a thing about it since.
Sailor Moon launched here in September 1995, and I was obsessed already by the end of the year(in other words, I was already "into anime"). Didn't encounter the Captain Tylor series till 3 or 4 years later, so it just didn't fit in the current topic. *shrug*

It's out on DVD, along with an OAV following the TV series. But it's still rather obscure, despite it's greatness.

I have returned to state something.. I forgot.. it was somewhere a little before Pokemon that got me into anime.. it might of been that.. lol.

Of course.. that was when it was.. not quite as 'popular'.. and just starting out in America. I don't remember much of any anime before that.. (except Ninja Turtles, maybe? But that was before I was five.. lol..)

The first anime I ever watched was eight years ago - Sailor Moon. However, I think my first actual "non-tv" anime was Ranma 1/2, and then Slayers, which would have been four years ago. They're classics. Image
