I am extremely glad that the DBZ project was cancelled. If I ever saw a live action DBZ I would go ballistic and kill somebody, probably the director.

Although there was an old live action Dragonball movie, that's right, a Dragonball movie. I saw it once in a Suncoast, I believe. That was a long time ago though.

It looked old......reeaal old. Like a 70's kung fu movie. At least that's what the cover left the impression of.

It's horrible. Terrible. Atrocious. Shit. I owned it for about a week. Besides from being a horrendous unofficial version of DB (all the characters have different names), it's also a craptastic kung-fu flick. Absolutely nothing about this movie is redeeming. It's not even at a level of where the badness of the film is even laughable. It's just plain suck.

I gotta agree with this. Even though I haven't seen any live action animes, I don't think they can ever come close to what a real anime is. I mean, maybe Cowboy Bebop could be good because it is semi realistic. Nobody does anything supernatural say, like DBZ. Imagine some actor with ultra huge blonde hair glowing and screaming like a lunatic for fifteen minutes before they do anything. It just doesn't fit, but in an anime, its all good. Not that DBZ is the best anime out there, but since that was one of the first ones mentioned I used it for my expamle. Regardless of all this, I also think it will be fun to see what they try to do to convert anime into something "real".

 I'm dislexic so if it's spelt wrong Sond it out.
I think samiry X woud make a good live action as long as they don't try to chang it so its happy, non dipresing, or cast jakie chan.
As for most animes live action woud probly suck. Any one who saw the scooby-doo Move know they'll proby botch most animes to the pont of making fans cry or KILL  I preafer Killing.

If they did do a live action Dragonball Z movie, they'd have to get Jean Claude Van Dam to play Vegeta. Think about, he's a martial artist AND a short, arrogatent little prick. He wouldn't even have to act.

no he is not a martial artist he is a dancer. chuck noris and steven segal are martial artist and i would hope to god that they would not put their names on the travisty that would be a new dbz live action.

hollywood is currently in a state where they screw up anything that is suposed to be based on an existing work. with the exeption of lord of the rings. i can only cring in terror over what they would due to anime.

how would they get Vegeta's hair to stand up like that and still look 'real'? lol, if i had to choose an actor to play him....Vin Diesel! lol, ok, hes a little tall and bald...but he has so got that 'yeah, you better cower in fear!' thing going on! lol, ^_^

hollywood is in a crisis at te moment, kinda anyway, they need a 'new sort of movie' that hasnt been done before... so they did Spiderman...and now the world is going crazy for Comic book movies!! it is inevitable that sooner or later the big-ol' flamin eye of holywood will turn to japan. i wouldent be supprised if some idiot decided to create a live action Pokemon movie!!!! *shudders*

Honestly i'm a bit excited about the live action Lupin the III movie coming up. for a series wih that many episodes, that many movies, and still be GOOD, they had better get it right. besides which, the characters are pretty much set. as long as they remember that it's both action AND comedy, they can get that one nailed perfectly

oh, and Bruce Campbell would make the perfect Lupin
