Anime turning into Live Action movies

They're even making a live action speed racer. Guess what? It wont be about they racing. It's going to be about the relationship between Speed Racer and Racer X, his brother. They aren't planning on much racing at all in the movie.

I think it can be done. But with any adaption from any particular medium to another... there will be many that fall along the wayside.

If they make it, it will bring more attention to the original... regardless if it is good or bad.

Live Action Sailor Moon, I have been watching since its release and it started off as a joke. BUT they quickly figured out to deal with many of the problems that hindered the series... the poor fighting, Luna 'The Plushie" and so forth... they concentrated on the characters and the writing and thats what makes it so good.

Hm...live action anime, huh? I think it depends on the anime. An anime with lots of character focus balanced with cool action would make a good live action movie/tv series, but only if its done by the right group of people.

I personally think Cowboy Bebop would be cool as a live action movie, but then I shudder to think how Hollywood might ruin it.

Speaking of all this live action stuff...Anybody hear any more rumors about the live action Witch Hunter Robin TV series they plan to make for the Sci-Fi channel?

there are a few anime shows that would work as a live action, if they were done properly. i agree, cowboy bebop would be good! i quite like the idea of a live action Tenchi Muyo!! ....

wow, for any series, just imagine how much blue hair dye would need to be used! lol

Why?! The racing is one of the best things about that anime, I loved it (the old original not the remake). If it isn't going to be about the racing they'll have a lot to make up for and the script better be damn good. Because if there's a relationship between those two the races, the Mach-5 and the field are the bases for it.

Ah, yes! I heard about the Speed Racer movie. Now racing? That's kinda dumb, since the name of the anime -is- Speed Racer.

Makes me think their gonna change the name of the Evangelion movie at the last minute or something.
