Japanese version of Pokemon: Superior to the English dub?

Post by The Dark Umber » Sat Aug 14, 2004 12:45 pm

As many of you may appreciate, it's not such a good idea to publicly announce that you collect pokemon DVDs, especially when there are a load of anti-anime people in the surrounding area. I for one do not like the English version, but the un-dubbed version may be better, as is often the case. So, I would be very pleased if someone would tell me if the Japanese version of the Pokemon anime is worth getting, and if so, where I can get it. Thanks!

It's much funnier, since the Japanese aren't as afraid about putting a little more "adult" humor into a children's show. But other than that....it's still Pokemon. :)

If Life were more simple, I could stop using stabilisers...

Thanks, I was imagining that would be the case. As the storyline must be quite similar (Just with more death/sex/hideous maulings), I probably now won't buy the Jp version (As if anyone cares...).
In any case, I'm not getting Yu-Gi-Oh, so I'll just stick with Inuyasha. Good old half demonic dog-man...

is the officail manga the the one that came out as comic books? or the little books like the ones where you can see the pokemon when they're inside the Pokeballs?

Of course the original version is better than a foreign dub. Always. Even if it IS pokemon.
