love the banner.

yeah, making them isn't really all that hard once you get used to makin' them. The only problem I have with making MY banners/avatars/icons/etc. is that with Paint it's programmed to default-save as a BITMAP. [Duh, you can change this, of course.] But, the thing is that you want to change it into a JPG/JPEG so you can actually use it as a banner/avatar/icon/etc. without being resized...which is what the computer system does to the BITMAP. But now the problem is that some of the things in the original picture..well...here...I'll show you an example:

BITMAP(note: due to the small size of this example, it wasn't resized by the computer...)

JPEG/JPG

hmm...wow...this was long...

...or...you could just turn it into a GIF...never know what that'll do...

ah, Hiei is so awesome. Kurama's awesome-er though.

1. click on Profile at the very top of the screen. [shows up when you're only in the forum area.]
2. scroll down until you see "Avatar control panel"...and then upload something that fits the exceptions from your computer...

...haha...don't worry...I'm new too and I was like that a couple of hours ago TOO...:D

Using premade avatars off the interweb is the easiest way, but you can easily make your own.

If you have a DVD-ROM drive on your computer and a bunch of anime DVDs you already have good source footage. Just go through, find a scene you like, hit the capture button (assuming you don't use Win media player to watch stuff on) then crop/resize. (That's how I got my current Kite ava.)

I would also suggest not resizing in paint, as it gets quite distorted, but it's cool for any simple edits.

Here's how to make simple avatars and here's how to make simple signatures. If you'd like to create something that's more advanced, you can download a trial version of Paint Shop Pro here.
