um wtf, the creator had 2 posts here and 1 of them vanished O_o freaky. anyways ya i have to agree with your second post that vanished, this thread should be locked, and vash would win.

I like both shows, but I do have to admit that Vash would probably win in a gunfight. But there would be some really good action before it is over.

Vash. No question about it. Lupin is very resourceful but I just don't think he can take Vash.

Well you have to admit Lupin can be very sneaky. They both have the uncanny ability to dodge bullets and Lupin is always getting out of his handcuffs. But the real question is would Vash want to fight Lupin? and where is there posse? then it would be 4 to 3 of couse fujiko wouldn't be fighting because she wouldn't want to break a nail. So it would be 3 to 3. If Vash decided to fight Lupin, I think it would be over pretty quickly. Here's the play by play.
1.Millie would use her huge gun to knock Goyamon into Timbuktu
2.Meril might have a little trouble with Jigen but Millie would help out and he would be seeing Goyamon shortly after
3.Lupin would dodging all of Vash's nonleathel shots and he would then capture Meril and put a gun to her head
4. Vash will give up because Fujiko came up behind Millie and put a gun to her head (that sneaky little....thing)
5.The priest man will sneak up and kill Fujiko and Lupin will cry over her dead body.LOL
6.Despite that the priest man is Vash's allie he will still get very mad and he will transform into that huge weapon and kill everyone, thus Vash wins

Trigun for sure. Lupin is cool, but he lacks the humanoid "skill"

Remember, we're dealing with two universes with too much difference between them. By last check, the realm of Lupin III didn't have such uber-villains as the Gung-Ho Guns or the Nebraska clan

Trigun's got too much of an extraneous sci-fi element going for it for this to really be a fair fight...

I mean, Hell, Vash alone is a walking super weapon...Lupin may be the emperor of thieves, but he's still only human, how's he gonna compete with that?

Besides, he's not even the best shot of his group (if you want to make it a gunfight, it would be more like Vash vs Jigen)

And in regards to the play-by-play:

1. You sell Goemon short...the swordsman has shown he's capable of deflecting bullets and chopping through solid steel with his Zantetsuken...something tells me slicing Millie's stunners in two would be no contest for him.
2. Meril's packing derringers and is an average...Jigen's a borderline walking arsenal (in that he's skilled with prettymuch any firearm from a hand-gun all the way up to an anti-tank rifle) and a surprisingly deadly marksman
3. Lupin, for all the thefts he commits, is too much of a gentleman to take hostages...especially if said hostages are women...he'd be more inclined to flirt with Meryll than anything else.
4. Is Fujiko devious? Yes... Would she try this? Not likely...her style would be more to convince Vash that she's on his side (...and if ep 6 of Trigun is any indication, it would work too)
5. Wolfwood blowing away a woman in cold blood...in front of Milly no less? ... What version of Trigun have you been watching?
(...Granted, there was exception with Zazi the beast, but this was also after the kid revealed himself to be a Gung-Ho gun...Wolfwood would more than likely try to disarm Fujiko first)
6. Vash never willingly turns into the Angel Arm...the two times we see it happening in the series he's usually forced into it by Legato or Knives.

In short: Game's called on account of characters being misrepresented

precicly, people forget about that these are two different anime
it would also depend on the situation...
1) is it just Vash and Lupin in a one on one contest
2) are any of Lupin's people there
3) are any of Vash's people there
4) what is the landscape like
5) are there any vehicles, equipment, etc...
6) what kind of weapons is Lupin carrying (we already know what Vash would have.
7) is this prior or after Vash gets his fully automatic arm
8) would any bountyhunters be sneaking up on Vash to try to collect the bounty
