Talk about a thread full of spoilers. Don't worry at least not all of mine are sad moments.

I put all of them in spoiler quotes.

Well first I dont think anyone ever gave this guy the truth, so here you go talentless hack
Cowboy Beebop Spoiler wrote: Sorry to say but Spike bites the dust. The doves at the end are a give away as they were when Julia is shot.

I questioned it at first because of the CB movie, but anime movies seem to rarely tie in that well to a series. Plus the box says it takes place between two episodes, 25 and 26 I think.

Sorry to give bad news. I know a lot of anime are open ended and thought provoking in that way like Trigun, but not Beebop.

(You could look at it as good news. Spikes life and the rest of cast too were really downhill and over before they began. Spike went to die and gain since of closure. Desire granted. Sad for Faye though. And Jet since he is a washed up ex-cop basically.

Anyway the doves are a give away.

Other thoughts:
Notice Ed wanders off before all the killing and sad parts.

Almost all the bounties or large one episode characters are reflections of the main cast, mostly Spike.

I was disappointed the aliens did not come into play more.

Personally I liked CB a lot the first showing but now I can only watch the fridge episode and the mushroom episode (huge significance in the mushroom one...think unobtainable stairway to heaven...not the song).

Wonder if they got it from John Woo movies. I know FLCL pokes fun about the use of doves in his movies. ...nevermind that...off topic...
Here are my own powerful moments in anime.

NGE wrote:Neon Genesis Evangelion is pretty well full of them.
DBZ wrote:Cell Saga death of Goku. Buu Saga death of Vegeta. Goku reaching SS1 and SS3.
Steel Angel Kurumi wrote:Kurumi, as well as, many other anime share this one.

Saki's unfulfilled love for Kurumi. I always feel bad for the token shoujo-ai girl who likes the straight girl and always helps her.
FLCL wrote:Mamimi wandering off alone at the end. She has a free spirit...but still she seems to really need someone.
Yu Yu Hakushou wrote:The end of the Dark Tournament.

A later discovery about Yusuke that I won't mention as it has not happened yet.

Hiei and Yusuke's first fight. I love YYH's anti-hero and new twist aspect. No badly dubbed I will defeat you speech and technique naming.
Just ' Hey Hiei, Get out here. I'm gonna kick your ass. ' ................ahhhh.......refreshing.............
Trigun wrote:When Vash goes to fight Knives.

When Vash kills Legato. (I kinda liked Legato though. He reminds me of someone. I wanna say Shorin (Rando) from Yu Yu Hakushou, but that's definitely not it.)
one more for FLCL wrote:The scene where Naota is holding Haruko's Bass Guitar.

It signified a new independence for Naota, and Mamimi as well. A think for yourselves sort of thing. A passing of the rebel torch to the next person that will shake things up.

There is just no feeling quite like the weight of guitar in your hands. There is just something magical about all the potential in the instrument and all the skill required from its holder.

That was pretty kick ass. But I hate Incognito so it just annoyed me having to see him...

SPOILER
When Alucard impaled him with the silver...Vlad the Impaler, get it? Such a cool and subtle way to hint at the fact that he's Dracula. Lol, like everyone didn't already know at that point anyway...END

Stuff happening.

Fullmetal Alchemist. Alphonse was angry for what Edward did, or something I can't remember what happened. It happened after stuff which makes it harder to remember.
In time everything will be gone. Joy. Agony. Everything.

Dammit! From the looks of it, Shouko killed herself in order to destroy the enemy just to keep the promise to Soushi about protecting their home island. Even though I KNEW something bad was going to happen, my heart still ached.

Ugh, that ep made me cry. Even though I had seen 7 before I saw 6, so I knew what happened..........it STILL made me cry......

Well...not sure what prompted this coming back...but anyways, my votes:

*Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
The final episode...no matter how many times I see it, Bernie sacrificing himself to protect a colony that
a) Will never know what he did for them
and
b) Didn't actually need his help in the long run
Still chokes me up...the odd part is, first time around, it wasn't even the actual scene that did it for me...that was sad, yes...but I didn't start choking up until afterwards when the kids tell Al there will be another war and he begins to cry...

*Aura Battler Dunbine
Todd Guiness's death...he started out as kind of an ass in the show, but as things progressed, he showed that, for his part, he really wasn't that bad a guy...and once they crossed over to upper Earth and he had a whole new reason to fight, his death just became that much sadder (strangely, I found his death the saddest out of anyone in the series...and that show has a substantial body count)

*Berserk
The collective deaths of the Hawks...first Pippin fighting in vain to buy Judeau and Caska time to escape...then Corkus losing his mind and obliviously embracing his death with open arms...and finally Judeau's demise trying to protect Caska...

*Mobile Suit Z Gundam
Several points in the final episode...Emma's death, Camille's last ditch charge, and finally Fa's maneuvering through the aftermath of the war to find Camille essentially mentally shattered.

*El Hazard: The Magnificent World
The end to the last episode as Ifurita travels through Makoto's memory...one of the few times an anime's REALLY gotten to me...
Image
*Resident shameless Gundam fanboy*

Naruto.

Haku and Zabuza,(however it's spelled), when he charges down the bridge.

I have never seen something that badass and yet so dramatic in anime.

Nuff said.
