Why some people dislike Anime?

I was wondering why some people don't like Anime-related stuff or Manga.

I personally just can't resist those funny faces and keep wondering what "that anime person" is thinking in some Manga or Anime. I think that in Japanice animations best thing is that they can show how this animated person fells and what he/she/it is thinking on. When in American animation don't show any feelings from persons, they just do funny things. And France animation does it with showing only what person does and they over-react on everything.
Of course Japanice anime has it's bad sides, but it shows persons so "alive-like" that similar cannot be found else where.

So I just cannot get it why some one wants to see American cartoons with charatters whom has no-life just funny outfit and crazy actions.

Are they so spoled with "America-culture" that they aren't open any more for others?

Because some people don't want to watch it. despite all the talkings and stuff that will be said later on, that's the most basic answer. same reason you may not like certain shows, foods, whatever. Everyone has their preferences.

My mother and a couple of friends basically say they don't like the art style. Not liking the style is a matter of opinion. Some people like it some people can't stand it. Some other people I have talked to say they don't like it because of us, the fans, who some how annoy them. Others don't like because they got exposed to either crappy anime or anime with a theme they didn't like (e.g. Hentai).

These people are all nuts but it is still their opinion.

Most of the people I know simple do not like anime "because it's anime".
Thats a realy stupid point, but most of the people think so. They dont't realy know the stuff, maybe they have seen pat of a series or two and then they judge everything based on the few experiences they got.

I know a lot of people who don't like it because all they've seen are the big commercialized animes like Pokemon, Digimon, Yugioh, etc. So they think it's juvenile or stupid and that all anime is like that (which it obviously isn't).

That is a big reason for a LOT of people. I almost stopped watching anime because of DBZ. Then I was brought back from the brink when my cousin showed me FLCL.

Because it's a cartoon, and unfortunately in America, people think cartoons are meant for children. They don't realize how many animes just AREN'T meant for kids.

Oh dear, I forgot to mention DBZ. . . that really turns a lot of people off. . . maybe even more than Pokemon. . .

well, this is also the culture that treats Comic books as an outside and sometimes outlaw art.
