Inuyasha [need recommendations]

Post by Hanyou_Kagome007 » Sat Oct 30, 2004 7:07 am

I've been a fan of anime and japanese stuff since I was 12 but anyways I just watched the whole series for Inuyasha and I've followed it since the beginning. I kind of wanna break off from the mainstream anime and right now I'm currently reading Fake..but anyone have any other ideas? or anime/manga to reccomend? I've seen stuff like X, Angel Sanctuary, FLCL(the first episode -.-0) and a lil bit of Naruto. If anyone has any ideas reply please ^_^

personally, i really like angel sanctuary and witch hunter robin. yu yu hakusho is pretty good too, i guess... inuyasha is still pretty good though! sailor moon is getting pretty old isnt it?

as for manga; i read all of them! my fave is .hack (i've played the game too) and jing, king of bandits. you can find them at pretty much all comic book stores, i guess. :D  :!:

if you don't mind the sillyness of the "plot" try "Angelic Layer" manga.
and if you want a real treat, find the Anime itself - the Visual Reality of that
series will almost make you wish "this game" was For Real 8-)

if you want a quick plot that has no ending, try "Popotan" the Anime.
its nothing Visually unique, but the story itself will make you asy - hmmmm!

Most of those (excluding Jing and angle sanctuary), I believe, can be considered mainstream  (if you're reccomending them, that is)

Personally, I would look into the mech genre. There are a few good titles.
I would reccomend Evangelion but that's pretty mainstream.
RahXephon is a good one. Gasaraki isn't too bad, but there's quite a bit of politics in it (not that that's a bad thing).

(Not mech) Boogiepop phantom is good, but horrible confusing and induces headaches if you try to understand everything. Each episode is like a puzzle piece but even at the end there are a few pieces missing and some unanswered questions.

A less confusing (but still good) anime is chrono crusade.

If you like Fake then you should check out the OAV

Wow! I really love inuyasha too! I was first introduced to it by my friend Mez and now I'm hooked. But you have to admit, it is a really good show.

I used to like a show called Cardcaptors (Card Captor Sakura in Japan) which was on a few years back, and that was really good too, apart from they don't show it in England anymore. :(

I think the problem is that there's not enough anime in England anymore. I mean if you really want to see some you either have to order it from Japan/Usa or some place like that (that's only if you've got a credit card/nice parents) or you wait for ages for the english dubbed versions (which are never really that good compared to the actually stuff)

Does anyone else find that a problem?

i really liked .hack// it was neat, the whole idea of the computergame RPG whatever... anyways, the old Anime caled... Ranma 1/2 was pretty funny, i think you might like witch hunter robin too, Ive been reading a manga called Pita-ten, its rather entrancing... although a bit o the wayward side...

You should watch Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres, celestial legend). It's so great!!! :D
Other good Anime:
Neon Genesis Evangelion, RahXephon, Noir, Silent Mobius
I also like the Manga God Child from Kaori Yuuki, Fullmoon wo sagashite (looking for the fullmoon) and Fruits Basket.
But Ayashi no Ceres is the best Anime!
