The things I like about anime are the storylines, characters, and the depth of both. Things are just so much more developed in anime than in American Cartoons. Also, I like the way the styles look. Sometimes I have issues with animation, but I still like the whole "anime style" that drives art professors at my college crazy (hehe).
As for what makes me like a certian anime good, I look for all kinds of things. Mainly, I like things that are clean. If I can't show it to my little siblings, then I sure don't wanna see it. Also, I like animes that make me laugh. I love to laugh. I'll watch serious animes if they're good though (with good plot and well developed characters). Another thing I like is a good plot twist. Plot twists keep the story interesting, even if it was already grabbing. I also prefer sci-fi and fantasy animes; I generally don't do well with real life and/or romace stories (so WHY do I love Fruits Basket so much?!? Is it the characters?).

I also like it cuz 57% of the time it's funny. Especially Naruto.
I can claim the title as being the first person on a-m-v.org to submit an AMV with the artist KJ-52 on it. Yay. Hahaha.
Where my jello? I need it to go with my Cola, Rice, Puddin, Steak, macoroni, apple, peanut butter, plastic, baking soda, and cheese sandwhich!

Personally, my tastes in anime are closer to featuring comic situations about 37.31% of the time.

I like the fact that it's animated. No, that's not sarcasm. I really enjoy hand-crafted (even if it's CG graphics) visuals coming to life ...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Although there's a ring of truth to that, something along the lines of Frank Zappa's famous quote -
Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.
Certainly, there are artistic and stylistic aspects to anime I'd rather not try to talk about for fear of sounding weird.
Wait, since when did I not 'sound' weird?

Indeed.
There are things that cannot be fully expressed by only words,
and this is one of them.
I find there are quite too many
aspects of the subject
to sum its overall greatness.
But I can point out some that I specifically enjoy.
-Animation: It pretty much explains itself- animation is interesting to watch.
-Meaning/Meaning/Lesson: The message, lesson, and meaning it tries to give us to apply into the real world.
My brain is not working as I want it to at the moment, and I can only point out these two at this moment.
