WTF!?! Tenjou Tenge...

Post by Jaysin » Wed Nov 03, 2004 10:30 pm

Yesterday i was going reccomend this show to anyone that liked anime, it has great animation, hot girls, and kick ass fighting. Today however, i just watched the last episode and i wish i never wasted the time with this anime in the first place.

Am i missing something here? Was there supposed to be another season of Tenjo Tenge that got cancelled? Is there a different show out now that is the sequel to this anime? WTF is going on!?

PS: what did you think of the ending? (remember to say spoiler if your gonna talk about it)

I think that is WTF is going on from oyur post is that Tenjou Tenge is the latest victim of "Unsatifactory Anime Series Conclusion Syndrome" (UASCS)?

Otaku B: Christ man, first Escaflowne, then Trigun, next Kare Kano. Now Tenjou Tenge. That's just no way to go....

Otaku C: Both Evangelion conclusions will continue to disappoint me until the day I die....

LOL!! I've been thinking that about the Trigun ending and NGE ending since the second i finished watching them. I thought i was the only person who felt like that too!!

ALSO i think Full Metal Panic suffered from UASCS aswell.

All those BAD endings to animes that had SO MUCH potential really depresses. It makes me feel like i got scammed.

Glad i'm not the only one who thinks the endings suck, heh.

Yea, but unlike the others, it's gotten a comedic offshoot, and is supposed to be getting a sequel shortly
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Sequel or not, a half-ass ending is still a half-ass ending. :(

I would not have been angry Tengou Tenge if they had made it absolutely clear that either:
"A": This is the last episode where we will tie all the loose ends up. We hoped you enjoyed the story.
or
B: This is not the last episode. We will not tie up all the loose ends. We may even add a crazy twist or something. We hope you will continue to watch the sequel.

Either of those endings are fine to me. If its the end of the anime then so be it. If there's a sequel planned, so be it. What i HATE is how this anime (Tengou Tenge in particular) left you with a little "A" and a little "B". Instead of going outright and saying there is a sequel or instead of saying "this is the end" they just half-ass it and say, "well this could either be the end OR there might be a sequel. who knows?" now that they have done this it ruins both possibilites. If that IS indeed the end then it SUCKED. If they do intend to make a sequel then the last episode becomes STUPID since they tried to conclude the series for no reason.

All i'm saying is, if your gonna end an anime then end it! If your gonna do a sequel then do it! Don't try to do a little of both because it won't work out!

Bad endings do not mean bad anime. The anime is great from the twelve episodes I've seen of it (I've been watching since there were only four on the web, but I have dial up, so it's kinda hard) and, after watching it enough, both of Evangelion's endings become satisfactory. Trust me. I've gotten to the point where I watch the last two episodes o.o It's really weird..

otaku C is a simpler, more basic thinking kind of person
