I dont think they are scars.
I think they are more like paint... like a tatoo or something that only appears when he transforms.

i dont think theyre scars or nething like that... i mean, it's kind of like sesshoumaru's markings... i guess it just emphasizes on the demon part within him

They are his Demon Markings like Sesshomaru has and Sesshomaru and Inuyasha's Father had Inuyasha does not have them normaly because he is not always all Demon and he does not turn evil it is just his Demon Blood taking over when his Tetsaiga is not with him lol im not sure exactaly how to spell his swords name lol :)

since that's been answered i have a pretty good question.
if there in the fuedal era, why does Sango have eye shadow on? Naruku has good reasons.
