Why some people dislike Anime?

I think this post is meant to reveal certain percieved stereotypes surrounding anime and to discourage them. Subsequently people may be more open to the anime genre, not constrained by some false odd view, and anime may therefore become more widely enjoyed and appreciated.

However the vast majority of people reading these posts are most certainly into anime. In this case please share, but not impose, your joy of anime with friends and aid in the abolishment of sily, false, absurd anime stereotypes.

Well, thats my constructive thinking for today--:)

thank you and all those animes were the only "newb" animes i had and even then it took me 3 weeks to talk them into agreeing with going threwh with that

Yea i watch Inuyasha and yu yu hukusho on my own. I know there pretty main stream but i just got in to it and in my school we are waching Love Hina and some other less main streem ones.

I agree it is all a matter of opinuion and theres not exeactly a reason people dont like anime. but what think i do know is people who watch anime get judged big time. When i went to the first meating of the anime cub everyone thought I was in the rong place. I cant even remember the amount of people that where surprised I like anime and when i asked them why they said I dont look like that 'type'. What the hell is that? You have to look a certain way to enjoy anime? I wounder what kind of people are Considered to like anime?

Oh and sorry for the spelling im really bad at it

Yeah I hate it when people assume that girls shouldn't watch anime or get all into it. I hate it even more when people automatically reject anime cause they think its " stupid" before they even watch it.

and dotn; even mention those people who really try to be all popular in school so they just dis it and call anyone that's into anume a freak.

I don't care that some peole don't like anime I just hate it when they judge it before they're even exposed to it. Some animes teach so much more and have more life values tahn some of the mainstream trash on TV

and yeah anime guys are so much hotter than most ofo the TV guys LOL

I think its the word 'anime' that puts people off.
i say we make it a religion lol
i.ve converted 2 ppl already, all u have to do is borrow them Fist of the North Star, and call it Manga.(it sounds better i guess lol) dont drop them in deep story or anything just show them heads bein smashed to bits and all there pokemon fears will go away.

yea thats anotherthing anime does teach so much. I learned lots of things that i never knew before from waching it and it got me into Marshal Arts. It's pretty much the same as western television. It had action romance everything western t.v has only in cartoon, but people dont listen to me they said i was more of a "cheer leader type"!! what the !@#$$% is that? people are so hypocritical. Starting a new religion sounds reasonabe to me

I have some friends who doesn't like to watch anime as well. They prefer movies like "The Grudge" and shows from Disney Channel and stuff. With real people and not cartoons.
I guess some people find more excitement when shows or movies are performed by living people.
Though, I have friends who likes to watch it a lot.
it just depends on the person.
