Hell's yeah. I've heard that James Cameron has been an Alita fan and wanted to make the movie for the past couple of years.

Question is, how much of the storyline are they going to try and do, and will it be centered on Alita or another character in the Battle Angel Universe? I just hope it's better than the anime for battle angel was.

Oh its Alita. If you click on the link that Tsunami Jones has so genrously provided you will see that the character of Alita will be computer generated and everyone else will be live action.

Hmmm...Battle Angel was literally the show that got me interested in anime. Hope Mr. Cameron doesn't rape and pillage it

And making Alita/Gally CG while everything else is live action is erm...interesting. I wonder if they're going to do "performance" capture like they did with The Polar Express.

They might do a bit of motion capture, but probably only for her normal stuff such as walking. Once she starts fighting motion capture would be mostly impossible.

You know this actually sounds promising compared the the Eva Live Action...but I have hopes for that one as well...
