its hard to say, if im right it was Vampire Hunter D which my moms friend brought over when i was like 6-7 years old, it was back when i saw Project A-ko and Robot Carnival on the Sc-Fi Channel.

the first anime i ever watched was Escaflowne, it was years ago and I would stay up untill 3 in the morning to watch it.

There were three that I first watched, I guess, since they were all on tv around about the same time. They were Pokemon, Digimon and Dragonball Z... :oops:

I think I was watching Tenchi when I actually started to realise what 'anime' was.

whoa... time travel...
the first anime i think i watched was Starblazers (Space Battleship Yamato), but of course i was around 6 at the time, so i had no idea what it was doing to my young, defenseless mind...

The first anime i ever saw was Robotech (Macross to be exact)

The first anime I saw was Sailor Moon. I remember getting up at six to watch that show. But the shows that really turned me on to anime were the movies and OAV's that they used to show on SciFi when the had anime saturday mornings. I remember seeing Green Legend Ran, Record of Lodoss War, Eyes of M.A.R.S., Galaxy Express 999 and its sequal, as well as a documentary on anime that showed footage from the, then, upcoming movie Princess Mononoke. From there my first favorite series was Tenchi Muyo OAV, and El Hazard.
