The best way of attraction people that I can think of is weekly fliers, showing some art from what you'll be showing that week, and a bit about it. You could also try word-of-mouth, but I'm thinking a few well-placed, well-designed fliers is the best way of attracting some attention.GMDanish wrote:What times for your club and what styles of showing anime have worked well for your club?
On my campus of about 5,000 students we only have about 20 consistent club goers.
Also what ways of advertising your club have had that have been successful?
Basically do you guys have any suggestions for making an anime club better and getting more people to come to it?

The first time I visited my school's anime club, there were about 15 people there. The following semester when I went back, there were four.
And I know you're thinking "that's pathetic," but this is the University of New Hampshire... so you're right on so many levels.
Now I don't think we have an anime club, but we have a Go club. Weird.

Well I guess we probably aren't the biggest, but I do know that we have, at the very least, four members on the org and in he club (somewhat): rose4emily, angelx03, merm(myself), and a former roommate who never posts.

Only four members at UNH? I would have never guessed it was so low. Then again, UNH does seem to be more of a Jock/Frat/Party school every year, so I suppose it's all just part of that trend. You do mean the one in Durham, right?Unpronounceable_Symbol wrote:The first time I visited my school's anime club, there were about 15 people there. Of course, I also thought it was odd that only a quarter of the Whit arena was filled last year when I was there for the Michael Franti & Ziggy Marley concert. Maybe this is just a trend in event attendance in general?
BTW: I'm from Dover, NH - if you're wondering why I'd have any interest in or knowledge of the affairs of a school an eight hour drive away from my present location.

And for a moment I thought UNH's reputation was preceding it. :p
I guess the people who were in charge of the Anime Club forgot to apply for a permit or whatever the school makes them need, so someone else formed a "Japanese Culture Club" and it got really low attendance. Then he transferred to Hawaii or something.

I have to agree, UNH has always been a party school then anything else. I still remember watching on TV the police trying to quite them down after some sporting event. I think it was the Red Sox. . .
I am from Hampstead, NH. I also know UNH (I almost went there).
