Choose one for this week,
and just wait patiently for next time, I say.

I haven't seen Dead Leaves yet, but I have seen Wolf's Rain in its entirety on the advice of a good and trusted friend. I would pick Wolf's Rain. It is hard to categorize Wolf's Rain as a series as I spent the first number of episodes trying to figure out where it was going. Was it sci-fi? Was it mystical? Was it a romance? Was it action? A drama? The one thing that it wasn't was comedic. There were very few moments that elicited laughs, but very few. This is because the material can be pretty heavy.
What I can say is that the series is brilliantly woven in story, pacing, and narration. The art is stunning and the characters draw you in. And I can't say enough about the music. I cried openly in several places, this series will make you do it. It was produced by the same team that did Cowboy Bebop and it their craftsmanship really shows.
It will be a classic that will stand the test of time. And yes, there will be time to see everything (including Dead Leaves), but I recommend Wolf's Rain first.
