Best Overall Character

Who do you think the best overall (best developed, best personality, added most to the anime) character in an anime series is? Personally, I'd go with :evil: Gendo Akari :evil: . (Plz don't flame me for this, i have reasons but not much viewing experience) He was thought-through by the creators, he was a great character (not nice, but definitely great) and the anime wouldn't be there without him.

(Sorry, i just haven't seen that much anime)

I don't think this kind of thread is looked upon very nicely around here... it's a little too close to the "X vs. Y" or "what Z is the best" threads against which we've been warned in the "pointless threads" sticky.

no offense man, but these types of threads are way too overused, and they almost allways end up becoming a flame war over who is the best.

Beat me to that comment.

Although I'm sure we could introduce some empirical measure of "bestness". Say, take a combined IQ test, body measurement and strength assessment of every character... and then rate the characters based on those three things, subsequently rating the top list that takes the Bayesian average into account!
